Becoming Her | A Journey Through Womanhood ❤️
Earlier this year, my partner and I were invited to be part of a very special exhibition. On Saturday, we travelled to Gatton to finally experience the beautiful creation Rhi Thistlewaite had brought together.
I was genuinely moved to see such a powerful and intimate photograph of Marcus and me, captured with so much presence, tenderness and devotion.
Our relationship is built on deep trust, conscious connection and devotion, and Sh***ri is one of our favourite ways to explore that together. To have our connection captured so beautifully and woven into a larger story of womanhood was an incredible privilege.
I wanted to share this video of Rhi telling the story behind Becoming Her, because the meaning behind this creation deserves to be heard.
Through photographs representing different chapters of life, Rhi has created something that reaches far beyond one woman's journey. Each image invites us to reflect on the struggles we survive, the strength we discover, and the parts of ourselves we lose and reclaim along the way.
Our journeys may be different, but there is something beautiful about recognising how much of our humanity we share. The stories we carry in silence are often reflected in the lives of others.
I've never experienced an exhibition that captured the journey through womanhood quite so powerfully.
If you have the opportunity to visit Gatton while Becoming Her is on exhibition, I wholeheartedly encourage you to go and give yourself time to take it all in.
Rhi, thank you for trusting us with a small part of your extraordinary vision and creating something that allows so many stories to be seen, felt and honoured.
What a beautiful reminder that becoming ourselves is not a single moment, but a lifetime of unfolding. ❤️
