At sowing, a new input needs to fit easily into existing operations. 🚜

For Cameron Pastoral Company, adding Lumen soil enzyme technology to the existing seed-treatment mix meant no extra paddock pass or additional application time. It was simply another “product to add into the brew”, as Robert puts it.

✅ Ease of application is one part of the picture. Harvest will show whether the encouraging paddock observations translate into yield and a return on investment.

Dryland cropping rarely delivers the same conditions two seasons in a row. 🌱

Andrew explains why healthy foundations, early vigour and root development remain important when crops need to navigate changing climate conditions year after year. ☀️🌧️

This commercial-scale barley trial is evaluating Lumen® soil enzyme technology from Elemental Enzymes, with Gert from Tanuki working alongside the Cameron Pastoral Company team throughout the season.

👉 The observations to date are encouraging. Follow along for the results once harvest is complete and the data has been analysed.

“It started the race in front, so let’s hope it finishes.”

This season, Cameron Pastoral Company has been working with Gert from Tanuki to evaluate Lumen® soil enzyme technology from Elemental Enzymes in a commercial-scale barley trial near Goondiwindi on Queensland’s Darling Downs. 📍

The observations so far are encouraging. Harvest results will show whether those early differences translate into yield and value.

As we wrap up the Australian Cotton Conference, we'd like to thank everyone who took the time to visit the Tanuki/Fertec stand. It was fantastic to reconnect with customers, advisers and industry partners, and to meet many new people along the way. 🤝

One theme came through consistently: growers are looking for practical solutions that improve productivity without adding complexity. It was great to share how BASF's nitrogen management technologies - Limus and Ampliqan can help support agronomic efficiency in cotton production, together with Tanuki's broader crop nutrition portfolio including Verno micronutrients and Lumen enzymes.

Step 4: Protect nitrogen investment
