Spring officially begins with the Equinox on the 21st — we're marking it the day before, together.

We begin with an hour of Qigong as the morning settles in — slow movement, breath, arriving fully before anything else begins.

Then Druid ceremony, honouring the shift from winter into spring. We'll plant seeds together as a promise to ourselves for the months ahead — something small, held in the earth, growing alongside everything we're hoping to grow in ourselves.

🪻Qigong
🪻Gardening/planting seeds
🪻GongFu Tea and seasonal food
🪻Druid ceremony

Sunday 20th September, 9am–12pm.

$188. 5 spots left. Book through the link in the comments.

You might be surprised to learn there isn’t just one form or type of Reiki.

When Usui Reiki Ryoho was formalised in 1922, several other styles already existed under the name Reiki — some dating back to 1914. Additionally, Usui’s original method was hands-on treatment. It didn’t involve the chakra system or spinning energy centres in the body — that was introduced later, through other forms of Reiki that developed over time.

The word Reiki means spiritual life force energy. Different forms now exist, and each can offer a different experience.

If you’re booking a Reiki session anywhere, don’t be shy about asking what type you’ll be receiving. A knowledgeable practitioner won’t be put off by the question — they’ll be glad to share their studies with you.

Ogham is an ancient Irish alphabet, used by some as a form of divination. Each letter carries the name of a tree or shrub, and with it, a set of meanings of its own. Like Norse runes, the letters can be drawn or cast and read as a message — less a prediction than a prompt, offering an image to sit with and turn over.

As I continue my Ovate studies in Ogham, I am offering half-price remote readings for today only - Wednesday 9/9. To book, head to the link in the comments below 👇🏻

Yesterday, I sent out a survey to our Qigong class members to ask them about their experience of practicing Qigong at The Nook. This morning, I woke up to these beautiful messages and I can’t be more grateful 🥲

I’ll be sharing the survey results at the end of the week. I think you’ll be surprised!

A lot has grown here over the years 🥹

As we approach our 5th birthday next month, here’s everything The Nook offers now, in one place — Move, Restore, Guidance, Community, and Rites of Passage with Telling The Bees .

I know it might look like a lot when you see it all laid out. But at its core, it’s all the same thing — energy. How it moves, where it gets stuck, how to work with it rather than against it. Everything here is just a different door into that.

I’ve been noticing a trend over the years, where healing started needing proof.

Big physical movements. Tears. Something dramatic enough to point to and say — see, that’s when I knew it worked.

Usui Reiki was never built on that. At its core, it’s a hands-on method for restoring balance to physical and mental health. That’s it. It doesn’t require manipulating energy, or chakras, or producing a visible reaction.

Some clients do cry. Some move without meaning to. Occasionally a session looks like something else entirely. But it’s not the norm, and it was never supposed to be the measure of whether something worked.

The session is whatever it’s needing to be, in that exact moment. Trust that it’s done what you needed — even if what you needed was different from what you thought you wanted walking in.

That’s how life force energy works. And honestly, it’s how life works too. You decide something is exactly right, you push and push, and you keep hitting roadblock after roadblock — but you keep going anyway, because surely this is meant for you.

Sometimes those roadblocks aren’t punishment. They’re the universe saying: not this. Something better is coming.

2026 is a double Yang fire year. “Burn everything to the ground.”

If something’s been built on unsteady ground, this is the year it comes up. Relationships that need tweaking, or ending. Situations you’ve outstayed. Careers, people, places that never had real foundations underneath them.

This is the year they burn.

People are scared of that word. But when something burns to the ground, it makes space. That relationship that’s been unsteady — let it burn, so what’s actually right can be built in its place. That career that never quite fit — maybe it needed to end for the real one to arrive.

2026 was always going to move fast. It’s the Horse year — the Horse doesn’t sit still, doesn’t want to be contained, wants freedom and movement above all else. But movement without a foundation underneath it was always going to feel chaotic. This was the year that needed stillness and clarity carved out on purpose, or the nervous system pays for it — reacting instead of responding, all year long.

If you’ve been feeling frazzled, reactive, burnt out by your own year — you’re not imagining it. That’s what an ungrounded Fire Horse year does.

This is exactly what a session here helps with. Book in. Let’s find your ground before the year finds it for you.

August was the blaze. September, from the 7th, is the illumination.

Yin Fire Rooster.

This month doubles the energy in play — double the fortune, and double what’s worth avoiding.

Limit your time in the south and northwest this month. Keep the south-east and east bright and clear — clean, well-lit, uncluttered. Those are the directions carrying you forward this month.

Want to understand what this actually means for you? Join us this evening for Tea Circle.

For those of you unable to join us, join our Monthly Energy guidance to receive your personal energies as well as the collective. Available worldwide. Link in our bio.

Someone asked me over the weekend if what I do is witchcraft. It was a good question, so I wanted to actually answer it properly.

Druidry is a nature-based spiritual path. It’s rooted in relationship with the land, the seasons, and the ancestors — for me, it’s also literally my own ancestry, since my family comes from Scotland. There’s no dogma to it, nothing you’re required to believe, and it isn’t a closed practice — you can be a practicing Druid and still be Christian, Catholic, Buddhist, or anything else.

Reiki and energy healing sit in a different world again. The theory behind it draws on life force energy and the toroidal field — the idea that everything, including us, carries and moves energy.

I hope this helps!

Someone asked me a really good question last week - “Where did you learn all of this?”

The honest answer is that none of it came quickly. Each modality I teach and offer has built on the one before it, year after year, because that’s genuinely how long it takes to develop real sensitivity to energy — not something you can pick up in a weekend course or a few weeks online.

Next year I’ll be entering my seventh year of studying energy and Chinese metaphysics, and if I’m honest, I don’t think I’ll ever stop. There’s always something new to find, whether that’s a different frequency, a new way of working with energy, or simply another way of looking at what I already thought I understood.

The Druid studies have taken me into nature, into the cycles of time and transformation and deeper connection to land, and into something more personal too — my father was born in Scotland, and we grew up deeply proud of our Scottish heritage. So this hasn’t just felt like learning. It’s been more like remembering something I already knew.

I love that I’m still learning.
