Trauma care is changing, and we want the Border to be part of it.

For a long time, trauma treatment meant long waiting lists, limited options and a lot of hoping for the best. Today, new approaches to trauma therapy are transforming what recovery can look like, helping people heal in ways that weren’t possible a generation ago.

But most of this expertise is concentrated in our capital cities. People in regional Australia often travel hours, or go without.

At the Murray River Centre, we’re working to change that. Our vision is to bring leading trauma therapists, psychiatrists and researchers to the Border, and to make Albury-Wodonga a place where trauma recovery is not only available, but pioneered.

Because healing shouldn’t depend on your postcode.

If you’re a trauma-trained clinician who’d love to be part of this, we’d love to hear from you.

✨ NEW SPACE & NEW RESOURCES! ✨

A few exciting additions at ABC Asher Baker Social Work! 💗

🛋️ A welcoming new space for our adults!

A comfortable, calm and inviting space where you can feel safe, supported and heard. Therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical — sometimes the best conversations happen when we feel comfortable enough to just be ourselves.

🧶 New resources for our kids and teens!

We’ve added some fun, creative, hands-on activities, including friendship bracelet making!

But it’s about so much more than making bracelets. 💕

Creative activities can help children and teens:
🌈 Build connections and trust
💜 Explore emotions without the pressure of direct conversation
🧠 Practise patience, problem-solving and emotional regulation
✨ Develop confidence and a sense of achievement
🤝 Feel comfortable engaging in therapy at their own pace

Sometimes the most meaningful conversations happen when our hands are busy and the pressure to talk is taken away.

Different ages. Different needs. Different approaches. One goal — making therapy a place where everyone feels they belong. 💗

Hi! Welcome to my page! Here is a little about me ☺️🌿

I’m Emma, a registered psychologist with a passion for supporting children, young people and their families.

Through Liora Psychology, my aim is to provide thoughtful, individualised psychological assessments that go beyond a diagnosis or a set of scores. I believe that understanding a child’s unique strengths, challenges and needs is an important part of identifying meaningful ways forward.

Liora Psychology is now accepting bookings and enquiries!

Please feel free to reach out! I’d love to hear from you, learn a little about what you’re looking for, and explore whether Liora Psychology might be the right fit for your child and family.

If I’m not the right person to help, I’m also happy to suggest other services or supports that may be more suitable.

Healing isn’t a straight line. Neither is the Murray. 🌊

Some days recovery moves forward. Some days it slows, bends, or seems to go backwards. That’s not failure. That’s how healing works.

At the proposed Murray River Centre, we’re looking to create a place on the Border where people are supported through every bend, for as long as the journey takes.
