Meet Dr Leila (Lily) Kohan, Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor at SkinGP Woodend.

Accreditation through the Skin Cancer College of Australasia isn't a single qualification, it's a pathway, and Dr Kohan has built through every stage of it: a Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine, a Certificate of Dermoscopy, then the Advanced Clinical Certificates in both, before reaching full accreditation.

What that depth of training means in practice is straightforward. Dr Kohan is focused on catching skin cancer early, diagnosing it accurately, and making sure patients understand their own skin well enough to know what to watch for between visits.

Spring doesn't feel like sunscreen weather. Officially, in Victoria, it already is.

Cancer Council Victoria's SunSmart guidance marks sun protection season as September through to the end of April, the period when UV levels reliably sit at 3 or above. That window has already opened, regardless of how mild or cloudy the day feels.

It's also a good prompt to book a skin check before the season properly gets underway, so any changes from over summer are caught early rather than found in autumn.

Rosamund is known for her thorough and patient-centred approach, with a strong emphasis on early detection, accurate diagnosis, and effective treatment of skin cancers. She has a keen interest in dermoscopy and performs comprehensive skin checks, as well as the management and treatment of both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.
