This post that shared hit home.
"Having a regulated nervous system means you still feel the triggers, but you bounce back in twenty minutes instead of twenty years."
I resonated with this so much because this has been my journey.
I spent 20+ years in a very chaotic, dysregulated state. It's only been in these last few years that I have been able to find the true core foundational source of the medicine that I've needed.
The medicine that has helped me shift the internal stories and beliefs and make space for these shadow parts of me to loosen their grip and allow my true self to shine.
When I was growing up, there wasn't the same awareness, education, or resources available around nervous system regulation and supporting yourself the way there is now. There wasn't the same understanding of trauma, the subconscious mind, inner child healing, somatic work, or how much our bodies hold onto our experiences.
That is why I am truly passionate about the work that I do.
Because I know how much this work has supported me.
It all starts with EDUCATION.
Somatic body-based therapies, nervous system regulation, inner child work, subconscious mind and energy work are the missing link.
These have been the things that have truly allowed the shifts and transitions to take place and become transformational experiences where there has been long-lasting change.
I tried talk therapy for over 15 years.
Nothing really changed.
It wasn't until I started exploring these alternative modalities and went on a wild goose chase to help myself that I was able to notice true change.
And the gap between lying on the couch for years, months, or weeks on end in a dysregulated state has slowly reduced over time to 20 minutes. I still have my moments where it takes me a lot longer to shift, but it is not at the same intensity as before.
I was able to notice that the same stories didn't have the same grip.
The same triggers didn't take me out for weeks, months, or years.
The same behaviours and patterns started to soften.
The same fears no longer ran the show.
There is a gap in a lot of services and offerings.
