Therapy with bee venom (apitoxin) in the context of lung cancer is currently the subject of intensive scientific research, but is still not a standard medical treatment.

Researches are based on the action of mellitin, the main ingredient of bee venom, which shows the ability to selectively destroy tumor cells, without damaging healthy tissue.

Studies in cell lines have shown that mellitin can induce programmed cell death (apoptosis) in various types of tumors, including lung, breast, and prostate cancer.
Components of bee venom can stop cancer cells from multiplying and metastazing.

Most of these results were obtained in the laboratory or in animal models. Human clinical trials to confirm safety and efficacy, particularly for lung cancer, are limited or ongoing.
