BEY, SHE FELL DOWN THE STAIRS AND WHAT?! 😳😭

Y'all, the stories I've heard in my treatment room over the years could fill a BOOK!

This client came in quietly and said, “I heard about you.” 👀

Now, as a therapist, those are some beautiful words to hear! 😂

But when she started explaining WHY she needed treatment, my jaw nearly hit the floor!

She had received devastating family news while standing at the top of her stairs. The next thing she remembered was waking up at the bottom with severe injuries to her leg and hip.

A YEAR later, after working with therapists in different parts of the world, a recommendation brought her to my little corner of The Bahamas. 🇧🇸

And listen, while I love a good referral, a complex injury history requires more than a good pair of hands.

Assessment, medical history, appropriate clearance, and understanding the client's recovery goals ALWAYS come first.

One thing 20+ years in this profession has taught me is that every client brings a story, not just a symptom.

And sometimes, those stories leave ME speechless! 😭😂

Therapists, what's one client experience that made you stop and say, “WAIT…WHAT?!”

3 reasons you need a coach

1. You want clarity. A coach can help you identify what matters most and turn big goals into practical next steps.
2. You need accountability. Regular check-ins can help you stay connected to the commitments you make to yourself.
3. You’re ready for support as you grow. You don’t have to figure out every new habit or challenge alone.

Coaching isn’t about someone taking over your journey. It’s about having thoughtful support while you do the work.

What’s one goal you’d love support with right now? 💬

Year 15 as a therapist—and I was starting over in a new country.

New surroundings. New faces. A different healthcare landscape. I was learning how clinical and medical massage were understood and practiced in this environment, while bringing the experience I had built over the years.

It reminded me that experience doesn’t mean we stop learning. Every new setting asks us to listen, adapt, and stay curious—while keeping the client’s needs at the centre of our work.

Starting again can feel uncomfortable, but it can also stretch you into a stronger, more thoughtful therapist. To every therapist finding their footing in a new place: give yourself time. You belong in the learning process, too.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU EVALUATE YOUR BUSINESS?

29/10/2026

One thing about me, I'm going to ASK QUESTIONS before I put my hands on you!

After 20+ years in bodywork and manual therapy, I've learned that pain tells us something is wrong, but it doesn't always tell us WHY.

When a client comes to me with discomfort, I start with three things:

🔎 1. The story: What were you doing when the pain started? Was there an injury, a specific movement, or did it develop gradually?

⏳ 2. The timeline: Is this new pain or something you've experienced for months or years? Is it improving or getting worse?

💪🏽 3. The movement: What action brings on the discomfort? Which muscles and joints are involved, and how is your movement affected?

And listen, just because a muscle is involved in a movement doesn't automatically mean it's causing the pain!

That's why assessment comes BEFORE treatment.

My approach isn't about chasing symptoms or giving everyone the same massage. It's about understanding the client, recognizing when medical evaluation is needed, and developing an appropriate recovery plan.

Because good bodywork requires more than skilled hands. **It requires critical thinking!** 🧠

Ever start a new routine feeling motivated, then find yourself back at square one a few weeks later?

You’re not alone. Starting and stopping doesn’t mean you don’t care about your wellbeing. Sometimes the plan is too rigid, life gets full, or the routine simply doesn’t fit the season you’re in.

Try making the next step smaller and more flexible. Choose movement you enjoy, build in support, and create a simple rhythm you can return to—even after an off week.

You don’t have to be perfect to keep caring for yourself. You just need a way to begin again that feels doable.

What tends to interrupt your routine—and what helps you come back to it? 💬

A few days ago, shared something about women learning to show up for other women, and how a scarcity mindset can sometimes prevent us from genuinely celebrating each other's success.

And chile, that conversation took me right back to one of my first Becoming the Ultimate Therapist masterclasses! 😂

I was teaching therapists about niching down and becoming known for something specific.

One therapist interrupted and said, “Well, my practice is open to everyone.”

And I understood her point. But I explained that you can serve many people while marketing to a specific audience.

Being intentional about who you speak to doesn't mean you're turning everyone else away.

Years later, hearing Kerel's perspective made me wonder whether the fear of missing out on potential clients sometimes keeps us from choosing a clear direction.

And isn't that how scarcity can show up in other areas of our lives?

We hesitate to recommend another woman because we fear losing an opportunity.

We struggle to celebrate someone's success because we're still waiting for our own.

We hold on to every possible client because we're afraid there won't be enough.

But another woman's success is not evidence of your failure.

Someone else's fully booked calendar doesn't mean yours has to remain empty.

And supporting another business doesn't diminish the value of your own.

I've learned that collaboration, referrals, mentorship, and genuine support can create opportunities that competition alone never could.

There is room for us to grow, specialize, collaborate, and celebrate one another. ❤️

And sometimes, the first step is recognizing where fear has been making our decisions.

💬 Let's talk: Where have you noticed scarcity mindset showing up—in business, friendships, finances, or the way we support other women?
