For years, Émile followed the sport he loves from home. This summer, the 98-year-old from Lévis, Quebec, got to experience the excitement in person, travelling with his daughter to attend the US Open Men's Final in New York.

With surprise courtside seats and a front-row view of an unforgettable match, the trip exceeded every expectation.

Cruise Week took residents at Chartwell Wedgewood on a virtual trip to Sweden. After exploring Stockholm through a documentary, they hit the dance floor for an ABBA disco and line dancing party, complete with Swedish-inspired refreshments. When one of our residents, who is gluten-free, wasn’t able to participate in our recent b**r tasting, our Lifestyle & Programs Manager found a way to make sure he didn’t miss out!

Eyvind and Colleen took a special trip to Miski Brewery, where he was able to find gluten-free b**r and enjoy his own b**r-tasting experience. 🍻

This week, we celebrated a very special milestone for some members of our team — 7 years of service! 💙

Lori, Victoria, Zohra and Virginia have been with us since day one and even before our building officially opened. Over the past seven years, they have helped shape our home, support our residents, welcome new families, and create the caring community we’re so proud of today.

Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to our residents have been an important part of our journey, and we are so grateful to have had them with us every step of the way.

On Friday, we were so touched to welcome the U10 Barrie Colts for a very special Grandparents Day visit. 🏒🌸

Our residents were showered with kindness, smiles, and beautiful flowers as the players took the time to show their appreciation and share a little love with us. It was a wonderful reminder of how special the connection between generations can be.

We were also honoured to have CTV Barrie join us to capture these beautiful moments and help share the joy with our community!

This morning, our residents had a truly special experience learning all about the fascinating world of butterflies! 🌿🦋

We learned about their incredible migration journeys, the important role they play in our ecosystem, and how these tiny creatures can travel such amazing distances. Then came the most exciting part, when we had the opportunity to tag and release our very own butterflies!

A huge thank you Butterfly Kisses Educational Outreach for an amazing presentation.
