Notice – Richards Landing - Matthews Site Roof Repairs

NSHN will be completing roof repairs at the Richards Landing - Matthews Site beginning this week.

Contractors will be working on-site over the coming days to complete this important maintenance project. During this time, patients, visitors, and staff may experience periods of increased noise and activity around the facility.

Please note that the wheelchair-accessible entrance at the rear of the building will remain accessible at all times throughout the project to ensure continued access to care and services.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve and maintain our facilities.

Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to enhance our site and support the delivery of quality care.

Earlier this week, NSHN welcomed Larry Kirtley and his wife, Darlene, who generously took time out of their day to visit with residents and share Larry’s stunning photography collection.

Larry is a talented local photographer whose beautiful images showcase the natural beauty and character of our region. Residents enjoyed viewing his work, hearing the stories behind the photographs, and spending time with both Larry and Darlene.

Thank you, Larry and Darlene, for sharing your time, talent, and passion with our residents. Your visit was greatly appreciated and brought smiles to many faces. 💙

🌱Cameco Cares Day at NSHN! 💙

NSHN was fortunate to welcome a team of volunteers from Cameco’s Blind River Refinery as part of their annual Cameco Cares Day initiative.

Since 2005, Cameco employees have dedicated their time and energy to enhancing communities across the region through projects that beautify and improve shared public spaces. From painting outdoor rinks and building picnic tables to revitalizing parks and beaches, their commitment to community service continues to make a meaningful difference.

This year, volunteers spent time helping maintain and enhance our Healing Garden—a special outdoor space enjoyed by residents of our Long-Term Care Home, their families, friends, and visitors. Their hard work will help ensure this garden remains a welcoming place for relaxation, reflection, and connection throughout the season.

On behalf of everyone at NSHN, thank you to the Cameco Ontario Blind River team for your generosity and community spirit.
