What a fantastic launch for our new Walk and Talk peer support program!

Our first walk was filled with sunshine, great conversation, and plenty of smiles. We headed over to Brant's Crossing and then to the Art Bridge where we stopped to admire the incredible creativity and talent on display in our community. On our way back, we took a well deserved break at the Armory swings for a little fun and relaxation before returning to the centre.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, both familiar faces and first-time participants. Seeing people come together to connect, move, and support one another is exactly what this program is all about.

We're already looking forward to next week's walk! Join us on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at 20 Darling Street.

New walkers are always welcome.

WALK & TALK begins TOMORROW!

Let's step into something good!

We are a welcoming walking group in Brantford for adults living with mental health challenges. This program combines light exercise, fresh air, and supportive conversation in a relaxed, understanding environment.

We’ll explore local trails, enjoy nature, share real conversations, and maybe even laugh a little along the way. Because healing doesn’t always happen in big leaps, sometimes it happens one step at a time.

Ticks are tiny, eight-legged critters that live on grasses and shrubs and, like mosquitoes, they eat blood. They don’t jump or fly, but they wait “questing” with a few of their legs out, ready to grab onto whatever walks by.

Not all ticks carry Lyme Disease, but if a black-legged tick (aka deer tick) feeds on an animal that has Lyme Disease, it can spread the disease to the next animal or person they feed on.

Ticks can’t bite through clothing. To protect yourself while out on the trails, use bug spray, close-toed shoes, socks, long pants and long sleeves, tuck in your shirt and tuck your pant legs into your socks. Avoid long grass. Be sure to check yourself after spending time outside!

After 11 memorable years, the Mood Walk program has officially come to an end. We were truly saddened to hear the news, as it had become such an important and meaningful part of our community over the years. Time and time again, walking and spending time in nature have been shown to support both mental and physical wellness, and we knew we couldn’t let that connection disappear completely.

That’s why HOPE is so excited to introduce our brand new peer-led WALK & TALK group, launching June 3rd! 🎉

This new program will continue creating space for connection, conversation, fresh air, and movement. All the things that made Mood Walks so special. Whether someone is looking to meet others, improve their mood, or simply enjoy a walk with friendly faces, everyone is welcome.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post with your family and friends.

Thank you so much for your continued support. We can’t wait to walk alongside you all again!
