National AccessAbility Week runs from May 31 - June 6, 2026 celebrating accessibility and inclusion across Canada.

It highlights the importance of removing barriers to build a more inclusive and welcoming society for everyone.

This year’s theme, “Building a Strong, Accessible Canada,” reminds us that equal opportunity strengthens us all.

Together, we can help build a stronger, more accessible future.

This month, our team has been out and about attending Welcome to Kindergarten events at Burford District Elementary School, Agnes G. Hodge Public School, and Resurrection School.

There’s something truly special about the start of a child’s educational journey - the excitement, curiosity, and even those first-day jitters!

We loved connecting with families, sharing information about our services, and meeting future learners.

Wishing all families a smooth and successful transition to Kindergarten this September.

And really…how adorable is that learning duck? 🦆

May has brought important conversations around mental health awareness and support. One topic that continues to stand out is self-care - especially the guilt caregivers may feel when taking time for themselves.

We often hear from families that life is busy and finding time for self-care can feel impossible.

Our team wanted to share some simple ways they practice self-care, in hopes of inspiring others too.

The common reminder? Self-care doesn’t have to be big or elaborate. Sometimes it’s just a few quiet minutes doing something just for yourself.

Supporting others starts with taking care of ourselves too!

What’s one way you will practice self-care?

We were invited to attend the Pauline Johnson Special Education Transition Open House this week. An evening to help support students and families as they navigate important educational transitions into Pauline Johnson, towards post-secondary and future planning.

New students had the opportunity to meet staff, tour classrooms, connect with peers, become familiar with the school and meet community partners.

We enjoyed connecting with families and had the opportunity to hear from Andrew Colton, Head of Special Services & Learning Resource Teacher at Pauline Johnson Collegiate & Vocational School.
