✨ NEW Teen Empowerment Programs Launching September 2026! ✨

At CMHR, we believe every teen girl deserves a safe and supportive space where she can build confidence, develop meaningful connections, strengthen resilience, and discover her authentic self.

We're excited to introduce two new programs designed to support teen girls through the unique challenges and opportunities of adolescence.

💜 H.E.R. (Ages 12–14)
Heard. Empowered. Respected.

H.E.R. provides a supportive environment where early-teen girls can connect with peers, explore their identities, develop self-awareness, learn to navigate emotions and relationships, and build a strong, healthy relationship with themselves.

💙 UNFILTERED (Ages 15–18)
Real Conversations. Real Connections. Real You.

UNFILTERED creates space for honest conversations about the experiences teen girls face as they move toward adulthood. Participants are encouraged to explore who they are beyond expectations, social media, relationships, and external pressures.

🎭 Please join us in welcoming Amanda Carnes to the Brantford Theatre Company & Expressive Arts Studio team! 🎭

We are excited to introduce Amanda as our newest Drama Coach, where she will be leading our Tuesday evening drama program from 5:30–7:00 PM.

Amanda brings an exceptional combination of creativity, movement, mindfulness, and a trauma-informed approach to teaching. Her experience in yoga, wellness, and social services creates a supportive environment where young people can build confidence, develop communication skills, explore self-expression, and discover their unique voices.

Through drama, storytelling, movement, and creative exploration, Amanda will help participants strengthen important life skills while encouraging imagination, resilience, and meaningful connections.

We are thrilled to have Amanda join our growing team and can't wait for our students and families to meet her!

Our Acting Up! Theatre Program at Brantford Theatre Company is designed to help children grow both on and off the stage. Through fun, interactive classes, kids build confidence, creativity, and social skills while learning the fundamentals of theatre in a supportive and encouraging environment.

What Kids Will Learn:
Acting Skills - Character creation and development, Voice projection and clear speaking, Memorizing lines and stage presence.
Improvisation - Creative storytelling, Building confidence without fear of making mistakes.
Performance Skills - Performing for an audience, Working with scripts
Creative Expression - Using imagination to create characters and scenes, Developing original ideas and performances.
Social & Life Skills - Teamwork/collaboration, Communication/active listening, Leadership /responsibility
Confidence & Personal Growth - Public speaking, Self-esteem, Problem-solving, Emotional expression, Resilience and perseverance

Our program welcomes beginners and experienced performers alike. Whether your child dreams of being on stage or simply wants to make new friends and become more confident, they'll be encouraged to participate at their own pace in a positive, inclusive environment. Theatre education has been shown to help children develop confidence, teamwork, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills that benefit them well beyond the stage.
