Growing up comes with questions about identity, confidence, friendships, body image, boundaries, and belonging.

Girls deserve spaces where they can explore these questions without feeling judged or pressured to have all the answers.

At CMHR, H.E.R. and UNFILTERED are designed to create opportunities for self-discovery, connection, personal growth, and learning skills that can support girls through everyday life.

Not because something is wrong with them.

Because they deserve the opportunity to grow, feel heard, and discover their own strength.

Every girl deserves a space where she can be herself. 💛

World Mental Health Day | October 10 🤎🎭

Today, we’re reminded that mental health matters, and that every child deserves to feel seen, heard, supported, and accepted for exactly who they are.

At theatre, we know that every story is different. Every child brings their own personality, experiences, ideas, and emotions into the room. And sometimes, the most meaningful part of theatre isn’t what happens on stage, but what happens behind the scenes. ✨

It’s the courage to speak up.
It’s the confidence to try something new.
It’s the laughter shared with friends.
It’s having the freedom to express yourself, make mistakes, and learn along the way.
It’s discovering that your voice matters and that you belong.

Because theatre is more than performing. It’s connection, creativity, confidence, and finding your voice.

As we continue creating opportunities for young people to explore their creativity, we want to remind every child that they don’t have to be the loudest in the room to be heard. They don’t have to be the most confident to belong. And they don’t have to hide parts of themselves to be accepted.

Some days, confidence looks like stepping into the spotlight. Other days, it looks like simply showing up.

Both deserve to be celebrated. ❤️

Today, let’s encourage our young people to talk about their feelings, ask for help when they need it, support one another, and remember that there is no single way to be yourself.

And to our theatre families, thank you for helping us create a space where young voices can grow, stories can be shared, and every child has the opportunity to shine in their own way.

Every voice matters.
Every story has value.
Every child deserves to belong. 🤎

A Thanksgiving Message from Our Theatre Family 🤎

This Thanksgiving, we’re feeling especially grateful for the magic that happens when people come together, share their voices, and create something meaningful.

Theatre is about so much more than learning lines, stepping onto a stage, or remembering where to stand. It’s about finding the courage to try something new, discovering the confidence to use your voice, learning to work together, and realizing that every person has a story worth telling.

It’s in the laughter during rehearsals, the creative ideas that take us by surprise, the moments when someone steps outside their comfort zone, and the friendships that grow along the way. ✨

We’re grateful for every young person who walks through our doors, every family who supports their journey, and every opportunity to create a space where children can express themselves, explore their creativity, and feel that they belong.

Because sometimes, the most meaningful moments happen behind the scenes . When a child finds their confidence, feels heard, or discovers a little more of who they are.

As we head into this Thanksgiving weekend, we hope our theatre families find time to slow down, connect with the people they love, and appreciate the little moments that make life special.

“Every voice matters. Every story has value. And every person deserves a place where they can shine.”

From our theatre family to yours, we wish you a Thanksgiving filled with laughter, connection, creativity, and a little bit of magic!

📌 Holiday Reminder: Our theatre programs will be closed on Monday, October 12, for Thanksgiving. Regular hours resume Tuesday, October 13.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🎭🤎

SOMETHING NEW IS COMING TO CMHR ✨

Two programs.
Two spaces.
One shared purpose:

To create a place where young people can feel seen, heard, supported, and free to be themselves. 💛

This November, we’re launching H.E.R. + UNFILTERED.

Two ongoing programs created to support connection, confidence, self-expression, emotional awareness, and personal growth.

🌸 H.E.R. (HEARD • EMPOWERED • RESILIENT) A space for girls to connect, explore & grow.

H.E.R. creates room for honest conversations, connection, creativity, and learning tools that can support young women as they navigate the ups and downs of growing up.

Together, we’ll explore topics like:
💕 Body image & confidence
🧠 Emotions & nervous-system regulation
🛡️ Personal safety & self-defence awareness
✍️ Journaling & self-expression
🌱 Healthy coping tools
🤝 Friendship, boundaries & connection

📅 Mondays | 6:00–7:30 PM

🎭 UNFILTERED - A space to take off the mask.

UNFILTERED is about creating a space where you don’t have to perform, pretend, or have everything figured out.

Through conversation, creativity, theatre-inspired activities, mindfulness, movement, and self-expression, participants will have the opportunity to explore who they are beneath the expectations and pressures they may carry.

🎭 Creativity & self-expression
🗣️ Honest conversations
🧠 Emotional awareness
🌿 Regulation & grounding tools
🤝 Connection & belonging
💭 Identity & confidence
🎬 Storytelling & creative exploration

📅 Fridays | 6:00–7:30 PM

✨ Launching November 1, 2026
💛 $150/month
🌱 Ongoing enrollment — join anytime

At CMHR, we believe young people deserve spaces where they can exhale.

Spaces where they can put down the mask.
Speak their mind.
Explore who they are.
Build connection.
And know they don’t have to navigate it all alone.

H.E.R. + UNFILTERED

Two spaces.
One community.
Room to be YOU. 💛

Our Theatre Kids have been busy over the past month 🎬

Here’s What’s Happening!

What a night!

Last night, our Theatre team gathered around the table for our very first CMHR Kids’ Conversations interview, and what a fantastic night it was!

There was curiosity, laughter, cameras, lights, and a table FULL of thoughtful questions. 🎤🎥

Our young theatre team had the opportunity to sit down with a local teacher to continue our conversation about bullying.
Asking questions, listening, learning, and sharing their perspectives.

And let me tell you… these kids came prepared! 👏

This is what makes our Theatre program so special. We’re not just learning lines and performing on a stage.

We’re creating, collaborating, asking questions, finding our voices, and having conversations about things that matter.

🎭 The September CMHR Kids’ Conversations podcast is almost ready!

We’re putting the final pieces together now, and a release date and premiere announcement will be coming soon. 🎬🍿

This is just the beginning of what we’re creating with our Theatre team, and we can’t wait to take you behind the scenes along the way.

Stay tuned… because these kids have something to say. ❤️

🎨🌟 What a wonderful evening at Madonna Della Libera Catholic Elementary School!

CMHR had a fantastic time participating in the Meet the Staff BBQ on September 16th! It was a great opportunity to connect with students, families, teachers, and staff while sharing a little creativity, wellness, and fun.

🪨 Our rock painting activity was a huge hit with the kids and families, and everyone enjoyed getting creative!

🎨 Ken, our painting instructor, shared an oil painting demonstration and hands-on activity, giving participants a chance to explore painting as a relaxing and expressive wellness activity.

💚 Our Mental Health Coaches, Alana and Amanda, spent the evening connecting with parents, teachers, and students, sharing information about CMHR's services and demonstrating some of the health and wellness interventions we offer.

A special thank you to Ken, Alana, and Amanda for representing CMHR and making the evening such a success. Great job, everyone! 👏💚

And thank you to Madonna Della Libera Catholic Elementary School for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful community event!
