Your nervous system is constantly taking in information and deciding:
Am I safe, or do I need to be on alert?

When we're constantly rushing, worrying, overthinking, working, scrolling, or feeling stressed, our bodies can spend a lot of time in a heightened state.

So what can you do right now to help your body shift gears?

Slow your breathing
Try breathing in gently through your nose and making your exhale a little longer than your inhale.

Try tapping
Gently tap along your collarbone, chest, or other EFT points while taking slow breaths and reminding yourself, “I am safe in this moment.”

Orient to your surroundings
Slowly look around the room and notice what you see, hear, and feel. Let your brain register that you are here, right now.

Move your body
A gentle walk, stretching, shaking out your arms, or simply changing positions can help you move some of that built-up stress energy.

Release physical tension
Drop your shoulders. Unclench your jaw. Soften your belly. Take a slow breath.

Connect with nature
Step outside, feel your feet on the ground, notice the air on your skin, and give yourself a few minutes without your phone.

And here's the important part:

Nervous system regulation isn't about never feeling stressed.
It's about giving your body opportunities to come back to a place of safety and balance.

When your body spends less time in a constant state of stress, it can better support the processes that are important for overall wellbeing including digestion, sleep, recovery, immune function and repair.

You don't need an hour-long meditation.
You don't need the perfect morning routine.

Sometimes your reset can be 60 seconds of intentional breathing.

Your body is listening.

Save this for the next time you feel overwhelmed and need a little reset.

There’s something so satisfying about pouring silky dark chocolate ganache over a cake

And the best part? Dark chocolate is more than just delicious it contains antioxidants called flavonoids that help support heart health and fight oxidative stress.

This ganache is incredibly simple:
✔️ Dark chocolate
✔️ Heavy cream

That’s it.

I love making extra and keeping it in the fridge to:
☕ Stir into coffee
🍓 Drizzle over fruit
🥞 Add to pancakes or yogurt
🍰 Elevate desserts with rich chocolate flavour

A little indulgence, a little nourishment, and a reminder that food can be both enjoyable and supportive of our health. Balance always.

It’s more than just sugar. 🧁

Sometimes, it’s the guilt we attach to food that causes more stress than the food itself.

A cupcake isn’t going to undo your health, your progress, or everything you’ve been doing for yourself.

You don’t need to restrict yourself from the foods you love. You also don’t need to eat cupcakes all day, every day.

It’s about balance.

Enjoy the cupcake. Taste it. Savor it. Move on.

Because being healthy isn’t just about what you eat.
It’s also about what you think about what you eat.

If every treat comes with guilt, anxiety, or the feeling that you’ve “been bad,” it may be time to change your relationship with food not just your food choices.

📖 My ebook *Make Peace With Your Gut* is a great place to start. Grab your copy through the link in my bio.

If you’ve been restricting carbs because you think they’re the reason you’re not getting results, it may be time to rethink that approach.

Cutting carbs can sometimes lead to short-term changes, but long-term restriction isn’t the answer. Carbohydrates are an important source of energy for your brain and body, it’s about choosing quality carbohydrates and finding what works for YOUR gut.

And sourdough?
Because of the fermentation process, traditional sourdough can be easier for some people to digest and may be a more gut-friendly choice than highly processed breads.

You don’t have to fear bread.
You don’t have to fear carbs.
You just need to learn how to nourish your body without restriction.

I have tons of simple, gut-friendly recipes inside my **Gut Mind Reset** course to help you do exactly that.

Don’t forget about that little child inside you.

The playful one.
The curious one.
The one who dreamed about helping people, not worrying about being perfect or having everything figured out.

Somewhere along the way, we can become so hard on ourselves that we forget why we started in the first place.

So today, give yourself permission to play a little more. Laugh a little more. Be curious. Try things. Make mistakes. And remember that you don’t have to have it all figured out.

That little version of you is still in there.

And honestly? I think she’d be pretty proud of who you’ve become.

📖 If you’re ready to make a little more peace with yourself *and* your gut, check out my ebook

Where’s your peace at?

Do you feel like you need to go on vacation to finally feel at peace?

A week away. A few drinks. A night out. Scrolling for hours. Comfort food. Whatever gives you that temporary feeling of ahhh… I can finally relax.

But what if peace isn’t supposed to be something you escape your life to find?

Your peace is deeply connected to the people you surround yourself with, the work you do, the environment you live in, the lifestyle you create, and the habits you choose.

And sometimes the habits we use to cope are actually taking us further away from the peace we’re looking for.

When you constantly need something outside of yourself to calm down, numb out, distract yourself, reward yourself, or escape… it can become a cycle.

You’re stressed → you reach for the habit → you feel temporary relief → the stress comes back → you need the habit again.

And before you know it, you're not actually creating peace… you're just creating moments of escape.

Real peace can look like waking up without feeling exhausted.
Eating in a way that makes your body feel supported.
Having relationships that feel safe and nourishing.
Creating a home that feels like a sanctuary.
Doing work that aligns with you.
Moving your body.
Sleeping well.
And letting go of habits and environments that constantly keep your nervous system in survival mode.

You shouldn't have to wait for your next vacation to feel good in your own life.

Create a life you don't constantly need to escape from.

And if you're ready to start creating more peace within your body and your relationship with food,
my eBook Make Peace With Your Gut is available now.

I’d genuinely love for you to check it out and let me know what you think.

Eggs. Bacon. Sauerkraut. Fried plaintain

Yep. This was my breakfast… or technically, brunch.

Because breakfast isn’t a time of day it’s simply your first meal.

What matters more is what you’re giving your body.
Think protein. Healthy fats. Micronutrients. Fibre. Fermented foods. Real, satisfying nourishment.

Health doesn’t have to be complicated, restrictive or Instagram-perfect.

Sometimes it’s just a plate of food that actually nourishes you and keeps you satisfied.

Want to understand the deeper connection between your gut and your mind?

The Gut Mind Reset course is where we go deeper.
