Morning mobility or evening mobility: Which is better?

The answer might be whichever one you’ll actually do consistently.

Gentle movement in the morning can help you get moving after a night of sleep. An evening mobility routine can be a great way to add some movement after a day spent working or sitting. And before exercise, movements that prepare your body for the activity ahead can make sense.

There’s no need to chase the “perfect” mobility routine or time of day. Find something that fits naturally into your schedule and that feels appropriate for your body.

Are you more likely to get your movement in during the morning or evening?

Arthritis isn’t something that only affects older adults.

During Arthritis Awareness Month, we’re highlighting an important reminder: arthritis can affect people at different ages, and everyone’s experience with it can look different.

While stiffness or changes in mobility may make you hesitant to move, avoiding movement altogether isn’t necessarily the answer. Appropriate movement can play an important role in maintaining mobility, strength and everyday function.

There isn’t one routine or approach that’s right for everyone, which is why care should always consider the individual, their symptoms and their goals.

What’s one activity you want to keep doing for years to come?

How long have you been telling yourself, “It’ll probably just go away”?

Not every ache or uncomfortable day means something is wrong. But when the same issue keeps returning, becomes more frequent, starts limiting your movement, or begins interfering with sleep and everyday activities, it may be time to stop ignoring it.

You don’t need to wait until something becomes severe to seek support.

An assessment can help you better understand what may be contributing to what you’re experiencing and determine appropriate next steps for your individual needs.

Been putting off an appointment? Consider this your reminder to check in with your body.

This week, Tania Sehra, RMT, answers:

“How do you know if soreness is normal or something more?”

Feeling sore after a workout, trying a new activity, or increasing your usual intensity can be normal but how do you know when it’s something worth paying closer attention to?

Tania breaks down what to look for, when soreness may simply be part of your body adapting and when it might be telling you something more.

Ever finished a desk day feeling exhausted and wondered, “But I barely moved today?”

Sitting might not feel physically demanding, but spending hours in one position can still leave you feeling stiff and sluggish. Add in a full day of screens, meetings and concentration, and it’s no surprise you might be ready for the couch by 5 p.m.

One of the simplest things you can do? Move more often, not necessarily more intensely.

Stand up. Take the long way to refill your water. Walk while you’re on a call. Change positions. Give yourself a few minutes away from your screen.

Your body was made to move, even on the busiest workdays.

Save this as your reminder to take a movement break today.

This week, Anita answers:

“What’s the biggest misconception you hear about acupuncture today?”

One she often hears is: “I already go to physio, so I don’t need acupuncture.”

But it doesn’t necessarily have to be one or the other. Anita explains how acupuncture and physiotherapy can complement one another and work together as part of your overall care and recovery.

Sometimes, a combined approach may be exactly what your body needs.

Closing the laptop? Give your body a chance to clock out too.

After hours of sitting, a few minutes of movement can be a simple way to transition from your workday into your evening.

Try this quick Desk-to-Dinner Reset: gentle neck rotations, shoulder rolls, hip movement, and heel raises. No equipment and no complicated routine- just a few minutes away from your desk.

Save this one for the end of your next workday.

New season, new routines.

September has a way of filling the calendar quickly. Work gets busier, kids head back to school, schedules shift—and sometimes our own health gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

Your fall wellness routine doesn’t need to be complicated. A little more movement, regular breaks throughout the workday, getting back to an activity you enjoy, or finally booking that appointment you’ve been putting off all count.

What’s one thing you’re making more time for this fall?

And if that appointment has been sitting on your to-do list, consider this your reminder.
