We are excited to welcome Dr Holly Prince, Anishinaabekwe educator and leader in Indigenous palliative care, as our guest for our upcoming free webinar, There Is Medicine in Diversity: Creating Spaces and Places to Honour Indigenous Knowledges in Palliative Care.

Holly has spent years supporting Indigenous communities and helping care teams understand how history, identity, and connection to land influence care experiences. This session will explore how Indigenous knowledges can guide more respectful, meaningful, and culturally grounded palliative care.

This conversation is designed for PSWs, nurses, and care teams across long term care, home care, and hospice who want to deepen their understanding and strengthen culturally safer care.

Wanted to give a brief overview and re introduction to our practice as there may be new followers or people who’ve forgotten we are here!

We are Lark & Raven Wellness
We focus on end of life, palliative care, grief, bereavement and trauma. And so much more in these areas.
We offer services for all ages, individuals, couples and families.
We are located near chinook mall in Calgary and are pretty central to Calgary.

Just to highlight some of our offerings:

- We also support families going through or considering MAiD
- We will have a practicum student joining us late fall and winter, so stay tuned for low to no cost grief counselling around that time.

- Our groups will hopefully be able to be run in the fall again but we are fundraising for these at this time. Groups we see a need for are a su***de loss group, spousal loss, and a general grief support group.

One of our main goals is to create a grief hub to find specialized support for grief specifically. We are collecting resources and information to pass on to anyone needing to find support in Alberta. We will do our best to source out support where we can find it!

Grief Counselling with Compassionate Estate Sorting

Sorting the belongings of your loved one, can be challenging and overwhelming when we are grieving a significant loss.

We are now offering in-home supportive grief counselling for this very task. Have us sit along side you as we process memories, emotions, and thoughts while going through your loved ones items.

We can work collaboratively with your estate cleaners as this is a counselling service, not a cleaning service. Regular counselling rates apply. We are able to meet this need in Calgary and surrounding communities.

Lark and Raven now has an art shop! We are fundraising for our groups and new group room. All proceeds go to providing a comfortable and cozy space to host our groups. In development are a su***de loss group, chronic illness support group, and some workshops on grief support.

New Webinar: Palliative Care Everywhere: Caring for the Grief of Those Who Care

As we at Life and Death Matters recognize that palliative care is everywhere we want to take this month to recognize the carers who do this work.

Caring for others is meaningful work but it can also carry a quiet emotional toll. Our upcoming webinar explores the grief experienced by those who provide care every day, and how we can better support the people who support others.

We’re offering a 6-week, therapist-led Grief & Loss Group for adults navigating the loss of a loved one. This group provides a supportive space to process your grief, connect with others, and learn how to carry your loss in a more manageable way.
