Even with excellent brushing and flossing habits, some plaque can harden into tartar over time. Once that happens, it can't be removed with a toothbrush alone.

Professional dental cleanings are designed to remove these hardened deposits, helping keep your teeth and gums healthy while lowering the risk of future dental problems.

Keeping up with regular cleanings is one of the simplest ways to support a healthy smile.

If it's been a while since your last cleaning, now is a great time to schedule one.

Missing a tooth can affect more than just your smile.

Once a tooth is gone, the rest of your mouth can start adjusting around the gap. You may chew more on one side, put extra pressure on nearby teeth, or notice changes in how your bite feels.

Over time, the teeth around the space can also shift, making the gap harder to manage.
Replacing a missing tooth can help restore your bite, support everyday chewing, and keep your smile functioning more comfortably.

If you’ve been putting off replacing a missing tooth, it’s worth talking to your dentist about your options. 🦷

Coffee, tea, red wine, to***co, and simply getting older can leave stains behind and gradually change your teeth's colour.

Mouth breathing once in a while is usually nothing to worry about.

But if you often breathe through your mouth, especially while sleeping, it can leave your mouth feeling dry.

Less saliva means less natural protection for your teeth and gums. Over time, this can contribute to plaque buildup, bad breath, and cavities.

If you regularly wake up with a dry mouth, mention it to your dentist. It could be worth looking into why it’s happening.

Some wisdom teeth stay completely or partially trapped beneath the gums. These are known as impacted wisdom teeth.

Even if you can't see them, they can sometimes cause pain, swelling, infection, or affect the teeth beside them.

Routine dental exams and X-rays help detect these issues early, so you can plan treatment before they become more complicated.

If it's been a while since your wisdom teeth were checked, ask your dentist if an evaluation is recommended.

Your gums do more than hold your teeth in place—they create a protective seal around each tooth, helping keep bacteria away from the tissues and bone that support your smile.

That's why healthy gums are just as important as healthy teeth.

During National Gum Care Month, it's a great reminder to give your gums a little extra attention. Brushing gently along the gumline, flossing daily, and keeping up with regular dental visits can all help maintain strong, healthy gums for years to come.

A small habit—like gently massaging your gums with a soft-bristled toothbrush while you brush—may also help stimulate circulation and encourage healthy gum tissue when combined with a good oral hygiene routine.

Healthy gums are the foundation of a healthy smile. If you've noticed bleeding, swelling, or tenderness, don't wait—schedule a dental check-up to keep your gums in great shape.

Sensitivity usually happens when the protective outer layer of your tooth wears down or your gums recede, exposing the inner layer of the tooth. This makes it easier for hot, cold, sweet, or acidic foods and drinks to reach the nerves inside.

You may notice it as a quick, sharp pain when you sip a cold drink, enjoy ice cream, brush your teeth, or even breathe in cold air.

While occasional sensitivity can have a simple cause, persistent or worsening sensitivity may be a sign of tooth decay, a cracked tooth, worn enamel, gum disease, or other dental concerns that shouldn't be ignored.

The sooner the cause is identified, the easier it is to treat and prevent further damage.
If tooth sensitivity is becoming a regular part of your day, schedule a dental check-up. We'll help find the cause and recommend the right treatment to keep your smile healthy and comfortable.

It's surprising how quickly we adapt to a missing tooth. Many people start chewing on one side without even realizing it.
While it may seem like a simple solution, relying on one side of your mouth can place extra stress on your teeth and jaw over time.
A dental implant is designed to replace the missing tooth, helping restore your smile, improve chewing, and support your long-term oral health.
Wondering if dental implants are right for you? Schedule a visit with our team—we're here to answer your questions.

If you wear clear aligners, this tip is worth remembering.
Wrapping your aligners in a napkin may seem convenient, but it's one of the easiest ways to lose them. Keeping an extra aligner case in your bag, backpack, or car gives you a clean, safe place to store them whenever you take them out.
It's a small habit that can help keep your treatment on track and avoid the inconvenience of replacing a lost tray.
Keep your aligners protected so they can keep working toward your best smile. ✨
