Meet Karina Terentiev, Intern Therapist at Your Life Design Inc.

📍 Prince Edward Island, Canada
🌎 Languages: English and Russian

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out for support.

Karina works with adolescents, young adults, adults, students, veterans, and couples who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or major life transitions.

She has a particular interest in supporting people carrying pressure from school, work, relationships, family, or home life, especially when it feels difficult to slow down, reconnect with yourself, or know what you need.

Karina’s interest in mental health grew during her three years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces. Originally from Ukraine and now living in Prince Edward Island, she also brings an understanding of how culture, language, identity, and belonging can shape our experiences. Karina offers counselling in both English and Russian.

Her approach is calm, curious, collaborative, and strengths-based. She believes clients should have an active voice in their counselling, with sessions shaped around their individual goals, values, experiences, culture, and preferences.

Drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, Karina works with clients to understand patterns, build practical coping skills, strengthen boundaries, and make changes that feel realistic and meaningful. When working with couples, she supports open communication, greater understanding, and healthier ways of responding to one another.

Karina is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is part of Your Life Design Inc.’s Graduate Practicum Internship Program. Through the program, she offers FREE therapy under clinical supervision.

Meet Lauryn Saulnier, Intern Therapist at Your Life Design Inc.

📍 New Brunswick, Canada

Sometimes what we’re carrying emotionally can show up in our bodies too.

Lauryn works with young adults and adults, including university students, who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, grief, academic stress, life transitions, identity questions, or uncertainty about the future.

She also has a particular interest in supporting people navigating body image concerns, disordered eating, and the emotional challenges that can come with chronic health conditions, including PCOS/PMOS.

With a background in kinesiology, Lauryn is especially interested in the connection between physical and emotional wellbeing. She understands that our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and physical experiences can all influence one another and creates space to explore those connections with compassion and curiosity.

Lauryn’s approach is person-centred and collaborative. She draws primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), while incorporating somatic-informed and psychodynamic perspectives when appropriate. Together, you might work on understanding difficult emotions, building practical coping strategies, developing greater self-awareness, and finding ways forward that align with what matters to you.

Lauryn is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is part of Your Life Design Inc.’s Graduate Practicum Internship Program. Through the program, she offers FREE virtual therapy under clinical supervision.

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, we’re reminded of the importance of connection, compassion, and creating space for conversations that can be difficult to have.

Sometimes, a person may be carrying more than we can see.

Checking in matters.
Listening without judgment matters.
Taking someone seriously when they say they’re struggling matters.

And if you’re the one having a difficult time, reaching out doesn’t have to begin with having all the right words. It can simply begin with telling someone, “I’m not okay right now.”

You deserve to be heard, supported, and treated with care.

Today and every day, let’s continue building communities where people feel safer speaking about their mental health and asking for help when they need it. 💙

You matter. Your life matters. You are worth supporting.

Meet Karmen Kamieniecki, Intern Therapist at Your Life Design Inc.

📍 Alberta, Canada

Whatever has brought you to counselling, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Karmen works with children, students, adults, and families who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, or difficult life transitions.

She has a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating abuse, unhealthy or toxic relationships, addiction, loss, and other difficult life circumstances. She also supports those dealing with pressures at school, at home, or within their relationships.

Empathy is at the heart of Karmen’s approach. She believes that we all deserve compassion, including compassion for ourselves. The difficult experiences we go through may become part of our story, but they don’t have to define who we are or what we’re capable of.

Her counselling style is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental. Rather than directing your journey, Karmen works alongside you to understand what you need, recognize your strengths, build healthy boundaries, and find practical ways to cope with what you’re facing.

Karmen is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is part of Your Life Design Inc.’s Graduate Practicum Internship Program. Through the program, she offers FREE therapy under clinical supervision.

Meet Taylor Jollimore, Intern Therapist at Your Life Design Inc.

📍 Nova Scotia, Canada

Counselling doesn’t have to begin with a crisis.

Sometimes it starts with feeling constantly on edge, second-guessing yourself, carrying too much for too long, or realizing that the way you’ve been coping just isn’t working anymore.

Taylor works with adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm.

She also has a particular interest in supporting women and children affected by domestic violence. Her experience providing trauma-informed crisis and ongoing support has shaped her understanding of the courage it can take to navigate change, uncertainty, safety, and healing.

Taylor believes counselling should be shaped around the person sitting in front of her. Her approach is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed, creating space to talk honestly without feeling judged, rushed, or expected to have all the answers.

Depending on what brings you to counselling, Taylor draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy to help explore patterns, strengthen communication, build confidence, and develop practical ways of coping.

Taylor is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is part of Your Life Design Inc.’s Graduate Practicum Internship Program. Through the program, she offers FREE therapy under clinical supervision.

Meet Sharon Grandy, Intern Therapist at Your Life Design Inc.

📍 Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

When you spend so much of your time caring for others, managing responsibilities, or simply trying to keep going, it can be difficult to make space for yourself.

Sharon offers a calm, down-to-earth space where you don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

With more than a decade of experience in Newfoundland and Labrador’s healthcare system, Sharon has a particular interest in supporting healthcare workers experiencing burnout, workplace stress, compassion fatigue, and the challenges of balancing work with life outside of it.

She also welcomes caregivers, older adults and seniors, adult and mature students, and those navigating anxiety, grief and loss, loneliness, changing family roles, communication concerns, or major life transitions.

As a Mi’kmaq person and member of Qalipu First Nation, Sharon welcomes Indigenous and First Nations clients and values creating a respectful space where each person’s culture, identity, values, and experiences are honoured.

Having grown up with a stutter, Sharon also understands how communication difficulties can affect confidence, relationships, work, school, and social experiences. She supports clients in exploring the emotional and psychological impact of stuttering and other communication concerns, rather than treating the speech difficulty itself.

Sharon describes her counselling style as warm, calm, collaborative, and attentive. Her approach is primarily informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with a focus on understanding patterns, developing practical coping strategies, building confidence, and working through challenges at a pace that feels manageable.

Sharon is currently completing the practicum component of her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is part of Your Life Design Inc.’s Graduate Practicum Internship Program. Through the program, she offers FREE therapy under clinical supervision.

This Labour Day, we recognize the many ways people work, contribute, care, and show up each day. 💙

For some, today may offer a chance to slow down and rest. For others, it may be another working day, a day of caregiving, or simply a day that feels like any other.

Whatever today looks like for you, here’s a gentle reminder:

Your worth is not measured by how much you accomplish.

Rest is not something you have to earn. Taking a pause, setting something down, or giving yourself space to breathe can be an important part of caring for your wellbeing.

Wherever today finds you, we hope there’s a little room for kindness toward yourself. 💙
