3 things you need to know before a cut!! 👇🏼

1️⃣ You can’t keep cutting from a cut. If you’ve spent years chronically dieting, bouncing between low-calorie weeks and weekends where everything goes out the window, or you haven’t had a solid stretch of eating around maintenance, your first move probably shouldn’t be another deficit. Spend time at maintenance, fuel your training, and give your intake some consistency first. You don’t necessarily need exactly six months, but you should have a stable baseline before deciding what to cut from.

2️⃣ Know your actual baseline before you pull food. Track what you’re currently eating for roughly 10-14 days without purposely changing anything. Your calories/macros, hunger, energy, training performance, steps, weekend eating - get the full picture. Otherwise, you’re basically guessing at what your deficit should be.

3️⃣ Your deficit should support keeping muscle, not just making the scale drop. The goal isn’t to eat as little as possible. Keep protein high, continue strength training hard, prioritize recovery, and use a moderate deficit. Especially for women 30+, we want to lose body fat while giving your body every reason to hang onto the muscle you’ve built & worked sooo hard for!

Are any of these surprising to you? Let me hear it in the comments 🤎🤎

Comment FAT LOSS and I’ll send you my free fat loss guide 👇🏼

5 boring things I did to lose body fat as a women’s strength + nutrition coach:

* I strength trained 3x a week, sticking to the same program for 4+ weeks

* I made sure I was getting enough protein every day (about 1-1.2g of protein per lb)

* I walked a lot and kept my daily movement pretty consistent

* I built most of my meals around foods that kept me full, while still eating things I genuinely enjoy

* I stopped treating weekends like a free-for-all and got way more consistent across the whole week

The boring basics work, if you are willing to be consistent long enough to see results ⚡️

Imagine how different things could look a few months from now if you actually decided to choose YOU.

Because the women I work with 1:1 who get the best results aren’t just “more motivated” - they’ve learned how to train properly, fuel their bodies, build habits that actually support their goals & stop guessing at what they should be doing.

And very soon, I’m opening up a way for you to learn the same strategies I teach inside my 1:1 coaching 👀🤎

I used to look at food almost entirely through the lens of calories - how many does this have, and how can I keep that number as low as possible? THAT was what made food feel restrictive for me.

Tracking macros changed the focus. Instead of just eating less, I started paying attention to whether I was actually getting enough protein, carbs + fats, while still having room for dessert, meals out, and foods I love.

That’s what gave me flexibility and helped pull me out of the all-or-nothing cycle. One food doesn’t ruin the day when you’re looking at the bigger picture 🤎

Let’s stop overcomplicating nutrition, k?? 🤎

While building all these meals, I have a few things in mind:

- what protein source am I building this around?
- what carb am I adding? *we need more than you think - add a little fat to keep it balanced & increase satiation
- fiber!!! Where’s the colour? 🫐🍓🍎

Here’s a few of my favourites!! Save for the next time you need a lil inspo ✨
