The exhale I felt touching grass and witnessing the nurturing side of the famous Sullivans Pond geese was just what I needed.

It’s moments like these that are so worth the pause. I think we’ve all been missing and needing something tender and genuine with the rise of AI and also some very devastating headlines lately.

I invite you to check in with yourself - what does your nervous system need? What would be a small step you can take (or pause) to feel 5% better?

Have you ever heard of parts work and wondered what the heck that is all about?

Well, look no further because one of our IFS-informed clinicians Nicole Becket MACP RCT is going to be running a workshop in a few weeks to teach you all about parts and how having an awareness and connection to them can help you align yourself closer to your values, help you feel more grounded in the face of challenges (work, parenting, relationships, etc), improve self compassion, and lay a nice foundation for trauma work.

Participants can expect an insight oriented workshop with the goal of learning more about their different parts, the roles and their origins.

When: June 18 6-8pm
Where: 366 Lacewood Dr - 3rd floor
Fees: $120 per participant (may be covered under private insurance, clients can ask about RCT services)
Register: [email protected] or [email protected]

Nurses carry a tremendous burden, yet here in Canada it seems to be under-acknowledged and a lacking research (especially since we know anecdotally nurses are reporting higher levels of stress and burnout since 2020).

As a fellow RN, and as a therapist - we need to do more than just thank nurses. We need to acknowledge the invisible load they carry, and do better to address vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and PTSD. Employers - what is your mental health strategy? EAP is not enough. Nurses need Critical Incident Stress Management just like firefighters do.

Welcome to my series where as an EMDR Intensive therapist and consultant I share insights on the most common questions people ask as well as what you should ask before booking your first intensive.

First up: what happens if I can’t remember my trauma clearly?

The good news - you don’t need to remember the incident or have an “image” to heal. The most important part of the process is connecting to the felt sense in the body and how it shows up there.

I consult with EMDR therapists of all skill levels and I am accepting clients for EMDR Intensives. Connect with me if you’d like to flush this topic out further.

What should I cover next in my EMDR Intensives series? Let me know in the comments.

Gotta get them in their feels before bringing them in! 🎼

What’s your favorite track off The Great Divide?

EMDR intensives are a big commitment financially, emotionally, and logistically.

So if you have a million questions before booking one…that makes complete sense.

Honestly, I’d be concerned if you didn’t.

Over the next little bit I’m going to be answering the questions I hear most often from people considering an intensive so you can get a clearer sense of whether it’s the right fit for you.

Follow along, or send me the question you’ve been wondering.
