Some days, caregiving looks like making lunch, helping with a shower, driving to an appointment, or getting someone out into the community.

Other days, it is sitting beside someone who is confused, frustrated, tired, or scared.

It is answering the same question more than once.

It is changing plans because your loved one is having a difficult day.

It is worrying about whether they are safe, whether they are lonely, whether you are doing enough, and when you are going to find time to rest yourself.

For families supporting a senior or someone with special needs, caregiving can become part of every decision and every day.

That is why support matters.

Sometimes having someone else step in for a few hours can mean the caregiver gets to have a coffee, go to an appointment, spend time with their children, sleep through the night, or simply have a moment to themselves.

Support is not about replacing family.

It is about helping families keep going while making sure the person they love continues to feel safe, respected, connected, and cared for.

At enABell Health, we believe care should support the whole family.

If you have questions, need support, or are wondering what care could look like for your family, send us a message here or give us a call at 250 880 0527. We are always happy to have a conversation.

H is for Homecare.

πŸ“š Back to school is here!

There is something about September that feels like a fresh start. New routines, new classrooms, new activities, and a whole new season ahead.

As students across Vancouver Island head back to school, it is also a good reminder for all of us to slow down, stay alert in school zones, and watch carefully for children at crosswalks and bus stops.

Wishing students, families, teachers, education assistants, bus drivers, and school staff from the Cowichan Valley to Victoria and surrounding communities a safe and positive start to the school year. πŸ’š

Sometimes care is not about doing more. It is about making sure someone does not have to do it alone. πŸ’™

Private care can look different for every family.

It might be a few hours of support during the day. Help with meals, personal care, appointments, errands, medications, companionship, or simply having someone there to make the day feel easier.

For some families, it may mean evening or overnight care.

Having a trusted caregiver in the home overnight can provide reassurance when a loved one is at risk of falls, wakes frequently, needs help getting to the bathroom, requires medication support, or simply feels safer knowing someone is nearby.

It can also give family caregivers something they often desperately need: a full night of rest.

Private care should feel personal. Familiar. Calm. Like support that fits naturally into someone’s life rather than taking it over.

At enABell Health, our RN led approach allows us to look at the whole person and build support around what they actually need, whether that is a few hours of companionship or more involved care throughout the day or night.

Because sometimes the greatest comfort is simply knowing someone is there. πŸ’™

What kind of support would make the biggest difference for your family?

πŸ”₯ **Wildfire Smoke Is in the Air. Take Care of Yourself and Each Other.** πŸ’™

With wildfire smoke affecting our air, a few simple precautions can help protect you and the people you care for.

🏠 **Keep indoor air as clean as possible**
Close windows and doors when smoke levels are high. If available, use an air purifier or your home ventilation system with a clean filter.

🌿 **Limit time outdoors**
Reduce strenuous outdoor activity when the air is smoky and pay attention to how you are feeling.

😷 **Protect yourself when you need to go outside**
A properly fitted N95, KN95, or KF94 respirator can help reduce exposure to the fine particles found in wildfire smoke.

πŸ’§ **Stay hydrated**
Drink plenty of water and take extra care during hot weather.

πŸ“± **Check the air quality before heading out**
Use the Air Quality Health Index to help decide when outdoor activities should be reduced.

πŸ’™ **Check on the people around you**
Older adults, young children, pregnant individuals, and people living with heart, lung, or other chronic health conditions may be more affected by wildfire smoke. A phone call or quick check in with a neighbour or family member can make a difference.

If you experience significant difficulty breathing or another medical emergency, seek emergency medical care.

At **enABell Health**, caring for our community means looking out for one another, especially during challenging days like these.

**Stay safe. Stay connected. Take care of each other.**

πŸ’™ **The Future of Care Is Home**

08/11/2026

Many families assume home care is only needed when someone can no longer manage on their own. In reality, home care often works best when support starts early.

A little help with housekeeping, meal preparation, community outings, medication reminders, or personal care can make a big difference in helping someone maintain their independence and continue living safely at home.

Home care is not about taking away independence. It is about supporting it.

At enABell Health, we see every day how the right support helps seniors and adults with diverse abilities stay connected to their communities, maintain their routines, and continue doing the things that matter most to them.

Because the future of care is home.
