Please note that there is ongoing construction happening on different parts of Canada Avenue until April 2027. We would recommend allowing a little extra time when coming to the unit for appointments. Check out the City of Duncan - Local Government for more information and updates.

Traffic impacts of the Canada Avenue Complete Streets Project begin today, May 27, 2026.

Southbound traffic on Canada Avenue from Beverly Street to James Street will be closed, and northbound traffic may experience stoppages of up to 15 minutes as work proceeds.

We will continue to provide updates as the work progresses and traffic impacts change.

KinderQuest at Wendy’s House
Join us for a confident start to kindergarten!
KinderQuest is a FREE small-group program for students starting kindergarten in September in the Cowichan Valley School District.

- Supportive, small group environment
- Parents/caregivers attend with their child
- Play-based learning activities

Monday to Thursday August 31-September 3, 2026 (4 classes)

3 Class times available:
- 8:30-10:00am
- 10:15-11:45am
- 12:45-2:15pm

We still have some rare spaces in our upcoming Postpartum Support group that starts next Wednesday, May 27th from 10:00-11:30am. Please consider joining us if you need some support and connection. You are not alone. Call the health unit at 250-709-3050 and ask to speak to a nurse to register.

Please note that we are closed Monday, May 18th for all public health services other than immediate postpartum needs. We will reopen Tuesday May 19th at 8:30am. Wishing everyone a safe and fun long weekend.
