We caught another swarm!

Our little 🐝 beehive split, and swarmed to an apple tree close to the hive. We successfully caught the mass of bees and transferred them into a second hive! 🤞 Hopefully they are happy with the new home and decide to stay😊 and that the original hive successfully hatches a new queen.

Thank-you Stranger!

"Many thanks to the stranger out there who has the courtesy to point out we are are doing something wrong or incorrectly"

A couple months ago a stranger pointed out to us that there are chicken mites you can not see with the naked eye, they burrow under the chickens' skin. . . This specific piece of information has led us to realize what is going on with our whole flock and finally implement a treatment.

To the stranger who drives peacefully on our local roads and highway, where our toddlers play and teen learns to drive, Thank-you!

To the stranger who informs us their egg carton was missing two eggs! Thank-you!

To the stranger who offers their feedback and words of encouragement, Thank-you!

Lion's Head Farmers' Market this summer find Wild Roots Food Forest at the 'farmshare' table!

We're excited to share some awesome news!! A handful of us homesteaders and small producers up here on the Northern Bruce Peninsula have been invited by the to participate in their Farmshare Table Program! We had a few zoom meetings and have decided to give it a go! 🤝

Starting June 6th, we will begin taking turns attending the market with our available produce pooled together on one convenient table for market patrons to buy. This means more options and quantity for our customers and a chance to join the market when we may not have had a chance to with limited produce on our own.

We all feel great about collaborating with one another and are looking forward to adding our high quality produce to the market and getting to mingle with all of you! See you at the Market, June 6th and look for the Farmshare Table Sign!! 😁
