Hi there, I’m Dr. Sullivan and I am so happy to join Milestones and bring endometriosis ultrasound to Edmonton! I have a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (specialization in key-hole laparoscopic surgery and hysteroscopy) with a special focus on endometriosis, chronic pain, and surgical infertility. I practiced in Edmonton for 4 years, focusing on this specialized surgical advanced gynecology practice.
I was sitting across from people like you, and could not get the right imaging to properly plan your surgery and give you the information you needed. Basic/routine ultrasounds do not give the information we need, and are too often “normal”, while MRIs were difficult to get and still inaccurate.
I performed too many surgeries without good imaging. This meant that sometimes I was surprised by the severity of endometriosis, and I didn’t have the right conversations with my patients preoperatively.
I am constantly attending conferences and trying to learn more, and what I learned is that this situation is avoidable. With advanced pelvic ultrasound for endometriosis, we can know exactly where your endometriosis is, what organs are involved, and make sure that you get the safest surgery, by the right surgeon, with the right consultants in the room (eg for bowel surgery).
From 2025-2026, I completed a Advanced Gynecology Ultrasound fellowship with and , where I learned to image endometriosis, from the most subtle superficial endometriosis to the most complex deep endometriosis. I am so excited to bring these techniques to Edmonton and Alberta!
