Today, CarePros recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and honours residential school Survivors, their families, and the children who never returned home.

As part of our continued learning, our team came together for a Lunch & Learn to watch Kuper Island: Return to the Healing Circle. The documentary follows Survivors of the Kuper Island Indian Residential School as they return to the site and share their experiences. Following the screening, we made time for reflection and conversation about what we learned.

For CarePros, this learning is particularly important because of our responsibility to provide culturally safe and respectful care to the children, youth, and families we serve. Understanding the ongoing impacts of colonial policies and listening to Indigenous perspectives are important parts of that responsibility.

Today is a day to listen, reflect, learn, and remember. Our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation must continue beyond September 30. 🧡

We’re proud to share that CarePros has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies for 2026 by The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business.

This marks our sixth year being recognized as one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies. Today, CarePros has grown to a team of more than 320 employees, all working together to support children, youth, and families across Alberta.

September is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Month, a time to build understanding, reduce stigma, and recognize the strengths and experiences of people with FASD.

FASD is a lifelong disability that affects the brain and body, and every person with FASD has their own strengths and challenges. Current research estimates that at least 4% of people in Canada have FASD.

At CarePros, we believe everyone deserves compassionate, individualized support that recognizes their unique needs and abilities. This month, we encourage our community to keep learning, listening, and creating more inclusive spaces for people with FASD and their families. 💙

This week, our CarePros team came together for learning and reflection in recognition of Treaty 6 Day.

Through an interactive activity, our team explored the history of Treaty 6, the commitments made at Fort Carlton in 1876, and what those commitments continue to mean today.

We also took time to reflect on our own relationships with the land, where we come from, how we came to be here, and what we want to carry forward.

Treaty 6 is more than a historic agreement. It continues to shape our relationships and responsibilities today. We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn together, reflect, and continue building our understanding.

A house becomes a home when it reflects the person living in it. 💙

At CarePros, we believe the environment matters. That’s why we work alongside the people we support to create spaces that feel safe, welcoming, and uniquely their own. From choosing décor to arranging furniture, every thoughtful detail helps foster comfort, independence, and a sense of belonging.

Recently, one of the youth we support helped redesign their living space based on their own preferences, creating a place they were excited to call home. It’s a reminder that the smallest changes can have a meaningful impact.

Because everyone deserves a place that feels like home.
