Not all destinations are equal. Some are simply brutal. Some are a delight for a few at the expense of many. This is the nature of a predator filled environment, there will be those who seek to use others for personal entertainment.

Can there be any greater evil? To use your will to annihilate another's?

When the collective understanding changes to recognize the sacredness of each person's will as a piece of Divinity, such behaviors will be abhorrent to the masses. But we simply aren't there. We celebrate debauchery as though it's some kind of hero, when the reality is it simply cheapens us. There is no benefit to a cruel joke, and explaining the punch line will not make it any better.

Dark humor is no substitute to genuine character, and the darkness must never become the norm... even as a joke. So when the signs point to uncomfortable things, if you need to laugh and move on so be it, but don't be making enjoyment of pain a substitute for living for joyful expression.

Portals, portals, portals.... one of my favorite events to play with is portals. The potential for change is never better, and so long as one is confident in their desires, there is no limit to what can come.

However, portals are doorways, and there is no progress if one does not step through. It is all too common that one wails for a solution but refuses to act when one cokes available. The ability of a human to become comfortable within intolerable environments is one of our greatest adaptations. But willfully enduring suffering is no path to honour. One does not experience change sitting on the edge of their bed. One must step through into change.

And this is why the portals come around, and portals come around OFTEN. Many are for a quick moment, but sometimes we get special periods where a multitude line up. May 5th, the 5/5 portal, is annual. Spring is another annual portal, and Beltane tomorrow marks a common social gathering for it. We also have a blue moon in May, and these often provide a period of powerful change. May 2026 is loaded with portal opportunities, and most of us are already fully engaged with them. This comes naturally for us, written into our subconscious codes, but we can choose to act more than the minimum.

Engage your change. The more one plans action then commits and sees those plans through, the more comfortable they become with change and portals. The greatest obstacle is often ourself and our complacency. If we do not rise to the challenge, then the opportunity slips by every time. But it only takes one good taste of the potential to really inspire one to break free from their cycles of imprisonment. We CAN change, and er WILL change, and we absolutely can be in control of that change.

Tomorrow, celebrate the potential of this year. Make plans in spite of the fears you may feel. Move yourself out of the past, and into the present that will grow into the future you want. Take control of yourself, and become the version of yourself that you will celebrate fully. The only way out is through, so through the portals we go.

A couple conversations sparked off the New Year special draw for the Tarot Poker table... specifically around that damn Devil card.

Major Arcana cards shouldn't ever be ignored. They're key elements to the structure of our reality, and when they are presented in a reading one has to pause and take note of all the possible ties it may hold. This created an interesting complex for me, as every personal set of cards had to be weighed by the devil's power. Is the devil an external force, or is the devil you? It's a simple question, but even suggesting it has become a little bit taboo amongst readers. How do you explain to someone that you are subjugating another human being? While I have found some success through revealing the effects of such behavior, I've never found a method that works universally. Each has to be met in their own language.

And this is where the ultimate rub came in. The only language genuinely available at this time is one rooted in pain and suffering. A shift towards understanding ourselves through shared experiences rather than individual ones is happening. And in the long term this is going to introduce a new litany of generational traumas. It is, it seems, the opportune moment for this great shift.

While we may not have the words to fully express it to one another now, we will find the words boiling out of us eventually. Letting these words root in anger, venom, and other forms of destruction plays very well into annihilation. If you can instead seek and keep the soft voice of final desperation, then perhaps instead of lessons through violence we can instead teach through invoked consequences. Some of us will need to get in the way of another swinging for those we cherish, and from the bottom of my soul I salute the guardians of the current age; To protect the world from yourself is the most honour bound state of being. If you are striking first, then I must say you are likely the devil indicated in this spread. I leave you with only a single point of advice: Anything that tries to master the world without mastery of itself will always eat itself in the end. Nobody without self control lasts longer than their breathing, and the erasure of such figures is a simple task for father time. If your case is truly for improving the world at large, look first to how you're actually using that world.

Change happens regardless of our personal desires, and inevitably change will eventually leave you without options. Until then, choose peace with yourself. Master yourselves.

Don't waste energy on people who you know can't meet your level, this is not the time to get dragged into other people's negativity.

You could leave it to fate and chance, but I will always advise against letting Jesus take the wheel and encourage each of you to guide yourself where you wish to be. The River promises that all things are in fluctuation, but those of us who can juggle the chaos well can find great benefit from this moment. It's an opportunity to move yourself clearly towards the things that matter and define you. So long as you don't panic, everything can be managed.

To keep the final number of hands equal, one card has to be burned. This week, the burned card indicates a loss of connectivity and receptivity in all people. Maybe it's just the weather changing, but people are pulling back into their defensive states and the isolation is palpable. Make sure you're doing what you can to hold tightly to the people that matter most, especially as things turn darker.

Have you ever been stuck in mud with bald tires? Or tried to trace a water leak in a multi-story building? Or, my absolute favorite, tried to buy concert tickets on a mobile phone while driving through the mountains? Some things just don't work. The Knight of Swords and The Hanged Man are exactly this problem. Stuck in a spot where the control feels completely taken from us, most respond with as much force and intensity as they can. The twist is in the way the Hanged Man forces it's hold; It demands submission so that a different perspective can be found. Swords is communication and thought, and meaning no offense.... but how often do you see a person change their mind?

So, the squabble intensifies. The anger intensifies. Some still perceive it as trying to simply improve the total thing, the whole neighborhood NEEDS this after all, but there is simply nothing gained, nor lost, by any of it. That's the other half of the Hanged Man.... while you're not going to move anywhere forward, you're also certainly not falling backwards either. So what the hell is it? Well, it's a moment to look within, if you can seize upon it. Refinement of oneself is the best option when you can't expand beyond yourself. Instead of just fighting against the momentary void, better yourself for when the gates to paradise open next. Don't fight invisible monsters, focus on what is immediately available: you.

Turn: Knight of Wands
Which, judging from this, is not going to be the common choice. Words and reflecting just don't last long, and stubborn activity always feels like results. Picking where to respond to others is going to get key, and remember the entire show right now is about looking for a reason to escalate things. Try to avoid pitfalls that will limit your potential reach. Risks aren't rewarded when the Hanged Man occupies the field, and there are nearly no ways to neutralize his energy in this week's table. You don't have to beat anyone except who you were the day before, and the only people who should help you weigh that are those you chose.

River: 10 of Cups
And the chosen ones are your family. Your people. Your tribe. Your closest of beings. These are the people in the distance we are trying to reach, and with the numerous December activities looming on the horizon, there's going to be a chunk of time and energy devoted to them next. These are the people who help recharge us. So why not make the moves and reach out to them now? You're not going anywhere fast anyway, and sometimes the best solution to a sour mood is better company. Comes down to a nasty battle between the desires to achieve a lot of great things, but being very limited in the opportunities to achieve them. So where are you going to put that frustration? And, honestly, I'm only seeing a Full House as a way to eliminate the Hanged Man's effect on every single person this week, of which only a pair of 10s or 5s makes it possible. This means nobody is seeing great progress right now on any of their fronts. Awful setup for a new moon week, but if you avoid struggling and look for the bigger truth in the moment, then next quarter cycle of the moon you can unleash all the potential storing up. On the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month In the year 1918, a silence fell over a world that had known only war for years. This new found peace was expected to be a marked change for the human experience, but regrettably, the peace was not to last. Barely thirty years later a second great war broke out, and again , the human experience became about conflict and violence.

It has been eighty years since that second great world war, and while conflict has never completely left our world, it has not occurred to the extremes that we experienced in those decades passed. Humans unfortunately have very short memories, and as time has passed the significance of the eleventh hour, on the eleventh day, of the eleventh month, has almost all been forgotten.

Eleven eleven remains an important symbol for all spiritualists, marking today with a special significance that some have been eager for all year. It is, by virtue of coincidence a portal day and with that comes a great opportunity for advancement and change. I find the desire though to do specialized personal readings in gentle optimistic messages to be somewhat contrary to the historical significance of the eleven eleven day, and I worry that as we focus more on what we can personally gain from this portal, rather than considering the suffering we have shared as a species community, we deny part of our history that once forgotten we will repeat.

Worse yet are the calls i'm seeing to move for Remembrance Day (Veteran's Day) to a Monday in order to accommodate people's lives , careers and regular planning, as though the holiday is about personal time off and not communal suffering. It's almost as though they've forgotten that nobody planned to die during those great wars, ignoring that our situations now only exist because others went through that sacrifice. As people forget the significance of symbols they lose touch with the wisdom that they represent. As we mock communal moments with individual focus, we disrespect our own history and ancestors.

As such I have no interest in doing readings or anything individualized for today. Instead, I need to remind you all of a very simple truth: Amongst our species are predators who would utilize others to advance their personal agendas in a manner that ensures they will never pay a real cost for their efforts. There are also always guardians and protectors who will not accept outside force robbing them of their own freedom to live with a gun to their faces. As we approach what is undoubtedly another great conflict between these predators, who believe them to be the superior ones in command of our species, and those protectors who know that there is no future for them but there is a future for their children we must preserve, we must each announce our truth and desire to live in a world without war. We must teach the lessons so we do not forget, again. The ancient symbols and traditions that help us to remember what costs humanity does not want to pay.

So at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, Take 2 minutes of silence to remind you that voices cried for freedom, and that their cries must be heard when echoed in the present day. Remember sacrifice. Remember duty. Remember, none of those who stood against violence lived to see the fruit of that labor, but we who inherited the orchard they planted can share the fruits with all.
