🎉 Family Fun Day at ARV! 🎉

What a wonderful day of family, fun, and connection last Friday at Aurora Reunification Village!

Families, staff, and alumni came together to enjoy bouncy castles, family games and activities, crafts, snacks, and plenty of laughs and smiles. ❤️

A special thank you to Brandon Police Service (BPS) and Brandon Fire & Emergency Services for joining us and spending time with our families.

Days like this are about more than having fun—they’re about strengthening relationships, creating positive memories, and building a strong, supportive community together.

💜 International Overdose Awareness Day 💜

Today, Aurora attended the Overdose Awareness Day gathering at the Selkirk Waterfront to stand alongside community members, families, peers, and service providers.

We came together to honour the lives lost, support those impacted by substance use, and celebrate the lives and recovery journeys that continue.

Events like today remind us how important connection, compassion, treatment, and ongoing recovery support are. Every life matters, and recovery is possible.

🌿 This week, our Traditional Team and our relatives spent meaningful time together learning, connecting, and healing.

Teachings and protocols were shared while picking medicine, including offering to***co to the land in gratitude. Our time together opened with drumming and singing before heading onto the land to gather medicine—connecting culture, healing, and sobriety.

This week, we also came together for our annual rebuilding of the sweat lodge. Men, women, and Two-Spirit people worked together in balance, with everyone invited to help, learn, and take part in the teachings.

Miigwetch for the medicines, the teachings, the land, and our lodge at Aurora. 🧡

💙 Nine Years. One Year. Two Incredible Recovery Journeys. 💙

Tonight was a very special Sobriety Milestone Night at Aurora.

We celebrated Wesley, who received his 9-year sobriety chip — becoming the first Aurora Alumni to celebrate nine years with us. What an incredible moment to witness and a powerful reminder of what Recovery for Life truly means.

We also proudly celebrated Jonathan, who received his 1-year chip. Watching him reach this milestone and seeing how far he has come over the past year was incredibly meaningful.

Two alumni. Two different milestones. Two powerful examples that recovery continues long after treatment ends.

Seeing Wesley and Jonathan return to Aurora, surrounded by people who understand the journey, reminds us why Continuing Care and our Alumni community are so important. Recovery is built one day at a time — and tonight, we had the privilege of celebrating what all those days can become.

Congratulations, Wesley and Jonathan. We are incredibly proud of you both. 💙

Recovery for Life.
