Cooper Funeral Home Cooper Funeral Home is family-owned and operated, serving Jarvis area families for nearly 50 years.

In 1974, Martyn and Brenda Cooper moved to 1 Dennis Street in Jarvis. The plan was to open a funeral home on the upper level while turning the basement apartments into living quarters. In June of that same year, Cooper Funeral Home opened to serve the community. Over 30 years later, Martyn and Brenda’s eldest son Ian became a partner in the family business. He is committed to maintaining the fine

Passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2026, in his 77th year. Bryan was the Beloved Husband of Helen (nee Elgersma). Darling Dad and Sweet Papa of Melanie and Kevin Wilkshire, Kristen and Shawn Kudlack, Autumn, Elijah, Makayla, and Isaac, Brianna and Oliver Belo, Caleb (Shannon), Zachary (Raha), Brendan (Kornelia), Malaya, Tino, Paisley, Bennett, Harrison, and Amalie and Kevin Ritskes, Alicia (Joel), Aidan, and Katelyn. Son of Ken† and Jessie† and brother of Roy† and Cynthia†, Ina† and Jim†, Ellard† and Dorothy†, Hugh and Barb, Paul and Mary†, David and Judy, Markula, Larry and Gloria, Roger and Janice, and lovingly remembered by many more extended family and friends. Bryan’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, and nailing the punch line to a (great) pun.

Friends are invited to share memories with the family during visitation at Selkirk Christian Chapel, 20 Erie St North, Selkirk, on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Selkirk Christian Chapel on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 3:00pm, after a private family interment service. The Listening Cup in Jarvis will be taking a break over the summer.
That being said, we want you to know that you are welcome to join our Listening Cup in Dunnville (at Ballard Minor Funeral Home) or Caledonia (at Miller Funeral Chapel).

We meet in Caledonia on the third Tuesday of the month and in Dunnville on the third Thursday of the month.

On Tuesday June 9, 2026, Bonnie, beloved wife of the late Charlie (2020), passed away peacefully in her 83rd year, at Cedarwood Village in Simcoe. Loving mother of Debi Gregan, proud "gramma" to Kelly, Matthew, Adam, and "G.G" to Ryder. Predeceased by her sister Carol (Marty), brothers Cam (Marion), Brian (Brenda), Kenny (the late Gladys ), Tommy and Gordie (Tina). She will be greatly missed by her sister Mags (Butch), brothers Charlie, Johnny (Janice), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Bonnie cherished spending time with her family. She loved to colour, craft, make fairy gardens and plan parties. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 3-6 pm at her daughter Deb's in Jarvis. All are welcome, and if you wanted to wear something red, she would really love that. Many thanks and appreciation to the amazing staff at Cedarwood Village. She was very well cared for there and was able to feel safe and experience the most amazing "adventures" during her final months. Much thanks to Ian and the team at Cooper Funeral Home for their guidance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Society. Bonnie will be interred with Charlie, the love of her life, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Stoney Creek, at a later date. Suddenly at his home in Nixon on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Alex Bancroft, much-loved son of Mick and Tracey Bancroft, in his 34th year. Dear brother and uncle of Suzanne Bancroft, Jason and Tara (Paxton and Theo) Bancroft, Angela (Stephanie and Georgina) Wright and Darrell (Laura and Robert) Wright. Loving grandson of Norma and Alan Chessum. Alex will be fondly remembered by extended family in England and Canada. He will also be missed by many friends and loved ones. Predeceased by his grandparents Mary and Edwin Bancroft. Friends are invited to call at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 6-8 pm. It is with broken hearts that the family of Elinor Ruth Nigh announce her peaceful passing on June 11, 2026, in her 84th year. Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband, Howard Nigh (1995), and leaves behind a legacy of love through her four children: Christine (late Ken) Best, Heather (Paul) Schmid, Lindsay Nigh, and Howard (Lisa) Nigh. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she was proud of and adored, include: Brittany (Josh) Sullivan and their children Joel, Mila, and Sadie; Jorden Best; Alexandra Nigh; Howie Jr. (fiancée Erika); and Elinor Schmid. She was predeceased by her precious granddaughter, Hope Nigh (2000). Mom had many pleasures in her life. She was a wonderful pianist and loved music. She enjoyed writing, gardening, puzzles, and researching family genealogies. Mom is survived by her brother, Tim (Susan) Wallis, and her sister-in-law, Geo-Anne (late Don) Wallis, as well as many nieces and nephews. At Mom’s request, there will be no visitation or service. A private graveside will be held at Springvale Greenwood Cemetery. Anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory is asked to consider Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to COOPER FUNERAL HOME, Jarvis (519-587-4414).

There are no words to describe our deepest appreciation to the nurses, PSWs, and social workers, with a special thanks to Dr. Thorogood of Norfolk General Hospital’s 3rd and 4th floor staff, who all showed Mom compassion, understanding, dignity, and kindness during her stay.
