We're proud of Heidi Leavitt for her ongoing contributions to CPA Nova Scotia and for the perspective, dedication and leadership she brings to both the profession and the Shannex team. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
Heidi Leavitt is the Director, Project Management & Software Solutions at Shannex, and this is Heidi’s third year on the Board of Directors for CPA Nova Scotia. While she initially had questions about the time commitment, she knew she wanted to be involved, which pushed her to run for election to the board.
“My CPA designation has given me so much throughout my career, and I wanted an opportunity to give something back,” she says. “I wanted to bring a different perspective to the table and have a voice in how our profession evolves and is governed.”��
Since joining the board, Heidi has served as Chair of CPA Nova Scotia’s audit committee, as well as Secretary/Treasurer and Vice Chair, before moving into the role of Chair for the year.
“It’s been a relatively short period of time, but I’ve learned a tremendous amount about governance, the profession, and the work CPA Nova Scotia does on behalf of its members and the public,” she says. “It’s also made me a better leader in my own career.”��
“Working with a board requires you to listen to different perspectives, ask good questions, build consensus, and sometimes step back from the operational details to think more strategically. I’ve brought a lot of that back into how I lead at Shannex.”
