✨🌿 Pottery Studio Makeover 🌿✨

Part 2! Yeeaaahhh... When we pulled up that carpet and found that big water stain I was a little worried. Then when I pulled off a baseboard and found some black mold just chilling... That's a no for me dog.

Big thanks to my amazing partner for getting in there and taking care of that mess! He said that although there wasn't a super scary amount of mold, there were all kinds of mold growing in there. Not only on the drywall but on the vapour barrier as well. After some mold treatment, replacing the drywall and fixing up that vapour barrier, we are good to go!

We have been mudding and sanding and mudding and sanding getting ready to paint the studio. Oh yeah! I don't think I told you, but this house we bought had ci******es smoked in it for the last 14 years 👀 so we are also needing to wash each room thoroughly before painting. The ceilings are the worst with all of that texture, but our little helper TSP gets the job done!

I can't wait to paint the studio! It's going to smell so much better and I finally get to turn it green!

🌿🌼 Life Lately 🌼🌿

The lilacs are blooming and so are the mountain ash trees. Honey bees frolick around our garden sipping blooms along with other visitors like the beautiful swallowtail butterfly and the elusive and fascinating hummingbird moth. This place is filled to the brim with life, with new visitors everyday. A rufous hummingbird has claimed our yard and tenaciously guards his new territory. He can hardly ward off the other hummingbirds as the days grow longer; Litha approaches.

The Pottery Studio is coming along nicely. It has a fresh coat of beautiful green paint on its walls as you read this. I've been recording the journey and a part 2 of the Pottery Studio Makeover Series is coming very soon ✨

Life is full, I'm moving slowly and softly, I'm learning all kinds of new things. And although my hands aren't at the clay just yet, I've been creating so much here at our new home. Soon I'll be opening pottery production. With my first market nearing the end of June, I'm grateful to be able to move at a pace that suits this life that is being built before me each day.

I can't wait to make some new art with all of this inspiration flowing through ✨

🌿🌼 Frolicking among the earthly 🌼🌿

Beyond the pottery portal, into the realms of the earthly. Life has been full of transition these days.

My love and I are settling into our new home and embracing what this next chapter is gifting us.

Slowly walking the land, building relationship and observing the magick of earthly life that is budding and blossoming in every corner of this place.

As Beltane passes I'm reminded to sink deeper into appreciating the gifts of Spring as they soon will flourish into Summertime. Every day the garden changes and th land breathes new life.

A softness washes over me as I admire the work of Mother Earth as she slowly takes over the garden. Her plant children fill up the blank spaces among the trees and grass.

Although life is filled with renovations, dirt, sweat and grime. I can still touch a softness that calms my spirit. Life is shifting greatly, new chapters are open and inviting me in. Great shifts of mind and heart dance among the usual day to day.

My hands are eager to be with the clay, though for now they are busy crafting with tools, dirt and vinegar. Washing, ripping, fixing and digging. It's an honor to make this place our home. Soon I'll be making art here.

✨🌀 Fresh from the Pottery Portal 🌀✨

This last month I have been crafting up some beautiful and fresh pottery! This is my first batch since my winter break and I'm so very proud of the many creations I get to share with you. Fresh designs, new vessels, and some favorites reimagined.

Taking creative rest is one of the pivotal musts for me as an artist. For the last three winters I've stepped back from my socials and prioritized rest and reset. I focus my creativity on other hobbies like painting, sketching, singing and playing guitar. Giving my production pottery mind a much needed rest after a plentiful and abundant summer and fall market & festival season.

Each Spring I bloom brighter and filled with more inspiration than the last. This latest batch of pottery is one I'm potently proud of! And it's been an honor sharing it and receiving feedback on my growth. I truly feel like I have found my style as a potter, and going on four years of pottery experience, this feeling is the best feeling ✨

Some of these pieces have already found their homes thanks to the many folks who shopped my booth at the Beltane Market last weekend 🌷

🍂 The slowing of the seasons 🍂

In the slowing of the seasons I'm reminded of the reasons why slowing down is so great.

When I'm feeling tired from summer dreams transpired, I often eagerly wait...

For the turning of the leaves, the browning of the trees and the cool stillness of the lake.

As nature turns inward and begins to curl, I too feel something stirring within me.

A special inspiration offering a nurturing invitation to find slowness in each breath and beat.

To take the pace of the slug, to have the will of the gull and to remember to sleep like the snake.

Hibernation, instigation, decay and defeat sit around. And I wonder, I wonder, will I be somber as the seasons begin to slow down?

And here I am, in the thick fog of fall. Painting, inspired and curious...

Of the shadows that lurk longer than the sun does smirk, particularly if they seem audacious.

To the wild and unknown that comes when it is cold to charm and challenge all comforts awake.

The deer pitter patter and the warmth dares to scatter, as I sit and I put paper to paint.

Slowing down feels strange yet quaint.

Like a quiet cabin on the smallest lake.

Like the caw of the crow in the silence of winter.

Like the fond remembrance of a final glimmer.

One thing I will always turns to is art. No matter what I'm feeling or experiencing in life, I know some medium can conjure my heart up to the surface. When I'm feeling lost in all of the feelings that slowing down brings to me, I remember to create. Just for fun, or to share, or perhaps to let go of.

Lately I've been breaking out some beautiful watercolor paints that I have from the wonderful . My partner gifted these to me in winter and I always seem to gravitate to them as the seasons begin to slow down. It's funny how the cycles work.

Finding inspiration in nature and art always brings me back home to myself. I'm grateful to be here and to share some creative magick with you. Thank you for being here ✨

✨🌿 Autumn is creeping in 🌿✨

Ahhhhh.... Shhhhh...

As the leaves are yellowing, my heart is swelling with love and inspiration as I exhale in my sweet home. Nesting and preparing for the days ahead as the sunlight shrinks and the cool crisp mornings kiss me.

This summer season has been nothing short of abundant and exuberant. Younger Jasper, who first created The Humble Hermit, dreamt that one day she'd like to be travelling and selling her art. Her and I have some big celebrations wrapping us in love as this summer season comes to a close 🥰✨

I have a big heart filled thank you to everyone I met along my travels this summer! And despite the car accident I experienced, I'm feeling grateful for everything that I got to hold in my hands and heart this summer. I truly cherish the amazing experiences that I shared at and 💖🙏🏻🌿
Women are medicine, our stories are medicine, our vulnerable and wild presence is medicine for eachother, the collective and this earth.

I'm currently enjoying a slow return to myself and the clay. After exploring Vancouver Island for the last few weeks with my love I'm feeling deeply inspired to create and can't wait to see what comes forth!

🌿🌼 Last Market of the Summer 🌼🌿

Well well well, Invermere!! You're my last stop for my Summer Season Festival & Market Tour! It's such a pleasure to be back at the Invermere Farmers and Artists Market!

I'm here sharing my smiles and creations until 1 today! Come by and say hello to the incredibly talented vendors of the Columbia Valley! This is such a wonderful market filled to the brim with locally grown food, art, wears, treats and more!

My heart is smiling as I sit here in the sunshine taking in this magical moment. 3 years ago when I moved to this beautiful valley, I showed up with my creations at this market unsure and excited to be welcomed by the community. This market has held many precious exchanges between the people of the valley, the travellers and I, an ambitious artist.

To think I've spent dozens of weekends here where my sharing my art has made me so many friends, special connections and gratefully, this space has shown me that dreams do come true! Ever since I was little I've wanted to be a successful artist. And this market has helped me grow greatly over the last 3 years.

I'm so grateful to be here today. If you're in town come say hello! I'd love to see you :)
