Understanding the Dopamine Chase
If you feel like you’re always chasing excitement or that next hit of satisfaction, it’s not a flaw - it’s dopamine at work. This chemical messenger drives motivation, reward, focus, and habit formation. ADHD brains often have lower baseline dopamine, which makes it harder to finish tasks or delay gratification. Recognizing your brain’s dopamine patterns is the first step toward working with your natural wiring instead of against it. Once you understand why you seek stimulation, you can start redirecting that energy toward activities that are rewarding, energizing, and sustainable.
How do you notice your dopamine-driven habits showing up in daily life, and how might you gently guide them toward something nourishing?

REM sleep, the time when we dream, helps process emotions, reduce anxiety, and restore mental clarity. Burnout often leaves us foggy and reactive, but quality sleep can clear that haze and improve problem-solving, creativity, and decision-making.
Sleep isn’t indulgence, it’s self-care. Prioritizing rest helps your body recover, your mind process stress, and your energy return. Small, intentional steps toward better sleep can shift the burnout cycle.
