Small daily habits can make a big difference in your baby’s mobility! 👶✨
Building on our recent video about head preferences, here are 3 simple, home-friendly strategies to help encourage gentle, balanced movement in both directions:
1️⃣ Alternate Feeding Positions
Whether nursing or bottle feeding, try switching arms and angles. Changing sides naturally encourages your baby to rotate their head in both directions and helps prevent a single side from becoming dominant.
2️⃣ Supported Tummy Time
Incorporate short, frequent sessions of tummy time while awake. Grounding their chest and tummy helps build symmetrical strength in the neck, upper back, and core—giving them the foundation needed to turn comfortably.
3️⃣ Engage with Toys and Light
Babies love high-contrast visuals, soft lights, and your face! Place engaging toys, books, or yourself slightly on their non-preferred side during play to give them a fun, gentle incentive to look that way.
💡 Remember:
Every baby develops at their own pace, but consistency with everyday positioning supports healthy, balanced movement patterns as they grow.
If you try these tips and notice persistent tightness or a strong preference that doesn't seem to shift, our team is here to help evaluate their joint mobility with gentle, personalized care. 🤍
