More pressure isn't always better. Sometimes the most effective thing I can do is slow down, soften my hands and give the horse space to respond. Bodywork isn't really about 'forcing' a release, it's about creating the conditions where the body can CHOOSE to release and quite often the horse knows exactly what they need.

Sometimes it's a shift in weight. A deep breath. An entire softening of the body. Tight muscles that finally let go.

Bodywork isn't just about finding tight spots and working on them. Well it IS that but it's also about slowing down enough to notice what the horse is trying to tell you. This mare was miserable from stomping on flies in the hot humid weather and she was in heat. I felt that she would benefit from light myofascial release work using only 2lbs of pressure with my palms. That was enough to feel exactly where I connected with the tension in her brachiocephalic muscle (the long 'trunk' muscle in her neck) and her eyes started to roll back with a yawn. I knew this mare would brace against my palm so I stepped back and let her feel through and let it go without me.

The body gives us SO much information. We just have to learn how to listen.

If something hurts, their body tells the truth.
If they're overwhelmed, their behaviour tells the truth. If they feel safe, their nervous system tells the truth and that's one of the greatest gifts animals have to offer us.

They remind us that healing isn't about looking okay from the outside. It's about creating enough safety for the body to soften, breathe, and move the way it was designed to. The more time I spend with horses, dogs, and their people, the more I realize this- when we stop trying to 'look healed' and start listening to what our body is actually communicating, everything begins to change.

Maybe that's why animals have always felt like such honest teachers to me. They don't perform wellness. They live it.

There are days where I've gone outside carrying tension I didn't even realize was sitting in my body until going outside with my dogs pulled me back into the present again.

Dogs don't care about productivity, timelines or whether you answered every message. They care about movement, fresh air, curiosity and connection. And honestly, I think there's something incredibly regulating about borrowing that perspective for a little while. Some of my clearest thoughts and calmest nervous system moments have happened with a dog toy in my hand and no real destination at all.

As an animal communicator, people ask me about signs, symbols, feathers, birds, dreams, and anything that seems too perfectly timed to be a coincidence. But I'll be honest. I actually don't believe every 'sign' is a prediction.

My dog, Mickey, is currently battling kidney failure. Like anyone who deeply loves an animal, I've found myself wandering into the anxious 'what ifs?' As I sat with those thoughts, I had a vivid image of me lying in the grass with him, holding him close and saying our last goodbye. At that exact moment, I heard crows calling from somewhere nearby. Years ago, I would have interpreted that as a warning. But today, I see it totally differently. I think sometimes nature and our animals gently remind us to pay attention to the what exists RIGHT NOW. Not tomorrow. Not someday.
But now. Animals don't spend their days worrying about the future the way humans do. They live in the present moment with an honesty that most of us are still trying to learn. Mickey wasn't thinking about the crows. He wasn't thinking about the end. He was simply being Mickey. And I think THAT was the message. It wasn't to prepare for a loss. It was ✨DON'T MISS THIS MOMENT✨

Our relationships with our animals are special because they teach us how to love without conditions, without expectations, and often without guarantees. Every walk. Every muddy paw print. Every quiet moment on the couch. It all matters. So if you're lucky enough to have your animal with you today, give them an extra hug. Sit with them a little longer. Put your phone down and just watch them simply exist. One day we all face goodbye. But today is not that day. Today is for love 💛🐾

It's the kind of work that actually changes you & usually doesn’t announce itself. It doesn’t look impressive from the outside but internally- you're completely rewired in the most incredible way possible 💛

Do the innerwork. Holistic living. Coach.

A lot of people treat discipline like force and gentleness like permission to back off. But what I'm describing is something much more deeper- discipline that doesn’t punish, and gentleness that doesn’t let you disappear.

It's keeping a commitment without shaming yourself when it’s hard. Its adjusting the plan instead of abandoning it. It's holding a boundary without hardening your heart. It's showing up even when you’re tired, but also knowing when pushing would actually be self-betrayal. It’s the difference between 'I have to' and 'I’m choosing to'. That coexistence is where real consistency is built- because you’re no longer swinging between extremes. You’re just steady.

And if you stay in that space long enough, discipline stops feeling like control… and starts feeling like self-trust 💛

Holistic healing. Holistic living. Mind body connection. Emotional well being. Wellness journey. Coach.

I learned how to rest without guilt or holding the need to 'earn' rest and let me tell you, the sweet spot is this- respect the signal, but don’t surrender your direction.

Think of it like working with a sensitive horse- you don’t kick harder in the saddle when it’s overwhelmed but you also don’t abandon the ride. You adjust, regulate, and then ask again 💛

Science and mindset. Mindset shift. Mindset matters. Self awareness journey. Behavior change. Coach.
