Obviously there are practical and ethical considerations in therapy. Scope, training, competence, personality fit, therapeutic approach, goals, etc. all matter. That is exactly why consultations are so important.
The clients I work best with are usually not a specific diagnosis or presentation. They are people who are curious, reflective, open to understanding themselves more deeply, and genuinely wanting things to feel different; even if part of them is terrified of change too.
Therapy works best when it feels collaborative, safe, and human. That fit matters both ways.
