There appears to be a window in which an old emotional learning becomes briefly editable.

Not managed, not coped with. Revised. A new experience that contradicts the original prediction can rewrite it, and then the rewrite is what runs.

It's the mechanism underneath a great deal of what works in experiential therapy, whether or not the model names it that way. IFS, AEDP, EFT, somatic approaches. Most of us trained inside one of those doors and never had the room itself pointed out.
