As young people enter post-secondary school and emerging adulthood, relationships can begin to look a little different. Friendships may change, family roles may shift, new romantic relationships may develop, and students may find themselves navigating greater independence than ever before. Relationships can also play an important role in our mental health fostering belonging, emotional support, and resilience, while instability, or social isolation can contribute to stress, loneliness, and emotional strain.
We recognize that relationships are often an important part of a young person's overall well-being. Our practice provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore relationship patterns, strengthen communication, establish healthy boundaries, navigate conflict, and better understand your own needs.
Knowledge Institute on Child and Youth Mental Health and Addictions shares this insightful resource from Good2Talk, a post-secondary helpline, to help post-secondary students navigate experiences and challenges related to relationship dynamics.
