Happy Victoria Day long weekend! This is the weekend when many people get their gardens started. 🌱

Gardening is a great way to be active, connect with nature, and stay present in the moment, but hours of digging, raking, pruning, weeding, lifting, and planting can also lead to aches, pains and injuries.

Here are seven tips to help reduce, or avoid, the physical strain associated with gardening.

Happy gardening! 🌱

Two of our wonderful physiotherapists, Heather and Sue, are CAMPT-Certified!

CAMPT-Certified physiotherapists have advanced training and clinical abilities in orthopaedic assessment, as well as manual (hands-on) therapeutic treatment techniques. CAMPT-Certified physiotherapists earn their FCAMPT designation by completing an internationally accredited physiotherapy education program beyond the core university education required to become a physiotherapist in Canada.

In Canada, we recognize these physiotherapists through the designation of ‘FCAMPT’ or by the CAMPT-Certified logo. FCAMPT stands for ‘Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists’.

Everyday we can show love to our planet in big and small ways. When we take care of the Earth, the Earth takes care of us.

Please see the following link to sign a house of commons petition to advocate for the millions of women suffering in silence from endometriosis: https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-6929

According to The Endometriosis Network Canada, “endometriosis affects at least 1 in 10 girls, women, and unmeasured numbers of two-spirit, transgender, and gender-diverse individuals. This means that almost 2 million Canadians have endometriosis. Endometriosis can affect many organ systems in the body. The symptoms can make everyday activities challenging, lead to missed school or work, and impact personal relationships, social life and mental health. That’s why learning about endo and getting support are so important.” (https://endometriosisnetwork.com/what-is-endometriosis/)
