Chloe Conklin, RP Qualifying Helping overwhelmed students & young adults survive ADHD, anxiety, burnout, and life chaos. Hi, I’m Chloe.

I help people navigate burnout, anxiety, and chronic internal pressure with honesty and care. I know what it’s like to manage perfectionism, chronic pain, and social anxiety while still trying to show up. Whether you're a caregiver, educator, or someone who’s always “on,” therapy with me is a space to exhale, reframe, and rebuild your energy. If this sounds like the kind of support you’re looking

for, you’re more than welcome to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us a chance to talk, see if we’re a good fit, and I can answer any questions you might have. I’d be honoured to walk alongside you as you take this next step towards a fuller, more meaningful life.

Ever find yourself in a ‘funk’ and not really sure why?😵‍💫

Not quite burnout. Not quite sadness. Just feeling flat, unmotivated, or disconnected from what usually matters to you.

It’s easy to assume something is wrong, or that you should be able to just “snap out of it.”

But often, it has less to do with motivation and more to do with how things have been feeling over time.

Overwhelm, withdrawal, autopilot, emotional fatigue… these can build quietly in the background.

Sometimes, small changes are enough to ease that stuck feeling and gently bring you back to yourself- no full reset needed! ✨

People-pleasing often isn’t obvious in the moment. It shows up in small automatic choices that feel easier than pausing or checking in with yourself.

It can look like:
➡️ saying yes when you actually want to say no
➡️ agreeing to plans because you do not want to ‘make it a thing’
➡️ saying “I do not mind” when you actually do
➡️ not correcting something that bothers you just to keep things smooth

Over time, this can become so familiar that you stop noticing it happening as it’s happening. The hard part is that it works in the moment, but later you might feel drained, disconnected from what you want, or think “why did I agree to that?”

This is not about caring less for other people. It is about including yourself in the process too🥰

Even small pauses can help:
“Let me think about it”
“Can I get back to you?”
“I am not sure yet”

⏱️You are allowed to take a second before you say yes.

Self-care often gets talked about as something ✨extra✨
Something you do when you finally have time, or when everything starts to feel like too much.

But, it’s not meant to be reactive.

Self-care shows up in the everyday decisions we make- how we care for our body🏃🏼‍♀️, our mind🧠, our relationships👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼, our space🏡, and how we move through work and life📚.

It’s not about “one-off” moments, but instead about the small, ongoing choices that either support you or slowly drain you over time.

Where in your life have you been feeling the most drained?

That Sunday dread?😰

It’s often anticipatory anxiety- your brain trying to prepare for the week ahead.

When things slow down, your mind can speed up🏎️
Cue overthinking, pressure, and that stomach-drop feeling.

Sometimes it can help to:➡️ get a loose plan for your week➡️ focus on what actually matters➡️ keep things flexible➡️ do something you enjoy

The feeling might not go away completely, but understanding it can make it feel a little less intense.

We often say “just respond differently” like it’s a simple choice. But, when your nervous system is activated, it rarely feels that way.

Reactions are fast, automatic, and often protective.
They aren’t random- they’re your system trying to respond to something it perceives as important or scary.

Responding, on the other hand, usually requires a pause, and that pause isn’t always easy to access in the moment.

🛑The STOP skill (from DBT) is one way to create that space:
– Stop
– Take a step back
– Observe
– Proceed mindfully

The goal isn’t about doing to perfectly, or to stop reacting altogether.
It’s to create just enough space to choose what happens next.

There’s often an expectation that once exams are over, you should feel immediate relief.
But, for a lot of people, what actually shows up is a crash instead.

☑️ Exhaustion, brain fog, low mood, heaviness… sometimes even a pressure to already be “back to normal”

This isn’t you doing something wrong.
It’s what can happen when your system has been running on sustained pressure and urgency. When that stops, there’s often a natural drop as your body and mind start to recalibrate.

What can make this harder is the meaning we attach to it.The mind tries to turn the discomfort into a problem to fix, something to catch up on, push through, or correct quickly 🧠

As we know, recovery doesn’t work under pressure.

If anything, this in-between space is often where the shift actually happens, when you stop trying to force yourself back into “normal” and let things settle at their own pace 🌿

You don’t need to rush this part! You’ve already done the hard thing 🤍

We often think of mood as something that just “happens,” but there’s usually more going on beneath the surface.

Your brain and body are constantly influencing how you feel through chemistry, stress responses, rest, connection, and everyday demands.

When certain systems are running lower or under strain, it can show up as changes in mood, energy, motivation, or how much you feel able to cope. This is not a personal failure- it is your body doing what it is designed to do when you have a lot going on.

Understanding this can help us make sense of what we are experiencing with a bit less self-blame and more clarity.

Support does not always mean fixing everything at once. Sometimes it is as simple as noticing what helps you feel even a little more steady.

❓Take a moment to notice- what might your body be needing a little more of right now?

If mindfulness has never really worked for you.....you’re not doing it wrong.
It just might not have felt realistic for your life.

Mindfulness isn’t always taught in a way that fits into everyday life, but it doesn’t have to be something extra. It can happen in the moments you’re already living.

Think about something you already do on autopilot-
☕️your morning coffee
🚶‍♀️your walk
🚿your shower

❓What’s one routine you could bring a little more attention to today?

When stress, anxiety, or big feelings take over, your body reacts first.
TIPP skills help calm your body so your mind can catch up.

🌡 Temperature- cool your body to slow your heart and ease stress
⚡ Intense Exercise- burn off anxious energy in short bursts
🧘‍♀️ Paced Breathing- control your breath to focus and calm your mind
💪 Paired Muscle Relaxation- release tension with your breath and signal safety to your nervous system

☑️ Adding these skills to your routine or using them when emotions and anxiety are just starting to build makes them easier to remember when things feel more intense.
