We appreciate Inside Ottawa Valley highlighting the work of the County of Renfrew Paramedic Service's Sierra Team in a recent feature.

As many people prepare to head outdoors this weekend, it's a timely reminder that emergencies can happen anywhere. The feature explores the specialized training, equipment and partnerships that allow our Sierra Team to provide advanced paramedic care in some of the most remote and challenging environments across Renfrew County and Algonquin Park.

ROSC occurs when a patient's heart starts beating again after cardiac arrest following advanced life support interventions. While every patient's outcome is different, achieving ROSC is an important milestone in their care. Well done, Breann, and thank you for your commitment to serving our community.

Every cardiac arrest call is unique, but each one depends on rapid assessment, clinical expertise and teamwork. ROSC occurs when a patient's heart starts beating again after cardiac arrest following advanced life support interventions. While the patient's journey continues after hospital arrival, achieving ROSC is an important milestone in a patient's care.
