Behind every great Show & Shine is a team of incredible people — and this year’s event was no exception.

To our amazing volunteers who set up, guided guests, supported residents, managed parking, ran the BBQ, and kept the day running smoothly — thank you. Your kindness and energy created a warm, welcoming celebration for everyone who joined us.

And to the drivers and their stunning cars: this event simply wouldn’t be possible without you. 🚗✨ Your passion, pride, and willingness to share your vehicles brought so much joy to our residents and community. June is National Seniors' Month. For over 110 years Carefor has supported local seniors through their health and wellness journey.

As a not-for-profit charity, we are part of your community, helping seniors in need live with choice and dignity.

Donor support pays for staff training, equipment, building repairs and more - which allows us to ensure seniors can access the services they need, such as assisted living, non-urgent medical transportation, meal delivery, friendly visiting and more.

Yesterday evening, Carefor resident, Melanie Freeman was recognized for her generosity and commitment to her community by receiving the Good Samaritan Award at the Civic & Youth Award Celebration.

Nominated by Kirstie Gray, Melanie's work raising $20,000 for seniors and programs at Carefor Civic Complex and Mackay Centre Retirement Homes is a reminder that any one of us can make our city better.

We had a wonderful evening last night at our Staff and Volunteer Appreciation Event in Pembroke.

We are so grateful to our wonderful team for the commitment, compassion and skill they bring to their work and their clients every day.

We celebrated staff and volunteers who have been with us for 5, 10, 15 and 25 years as well as our retirees and recipients of Carefor bursaries.

It was an honour to share our gratitude with them, and it was a joy to see everyone have such a great time together.
