Ki's Kitchen

Ki's Kitchen After diagnosis, most are told what to take — not how to live. Culturally relevant meals & guidance for the life between doctors' visits. Feed Your Joy.

I support cancer, type 2 diabetes & gut conditions through Ayurvedic, anti-inflammatory nutrition. Ki’s Kitchen - A Healing Foods Company - Feed your JOY! About me –

Why Ki's (pronounced "key"), and not Kiran's Kitchen? When my little brother was growing up and learning to speak, he could not pronounce my name. He started calling me "ki", and it caught on with all our family and friends. I disc

overed that I like to cook at a very young age. Everyday, when my brother would come home from school, the first thing he would say to me was "ki, I'm hungry, can you make me a sandwich?" And that's how my love for cooking began. The name Ki's Kitchen, is dedicated to my little brother. If I didn't have him to nag me to feed him while growing up, I would have never discovered how much I love showing my love for others by cooking for them. My other passion is helping others. I was inspired by my loved ones to reach out to people who have Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes and other debilitating illnesses. I learned to prepare food for people who need to consume a certain diet, in order to stave off their symptoms and/or help fight their illness, but have neither the physical strength, capability nor time to cook for themselves. Ki's philosophy -

Feed your Joy! You were not created to live in pain and misery. You've been given a gift, that only you can share with the world in your own unique way. But it's hard to share when you're in mental/physical pain. What you eat, what time of day you eat it, the way you combine your ingredients and your mindset while preparing and consuming together dictate the results of your health. You can choose to feed your pain or feed your joy, you always have a choice. Whether you purchase some meals from our meal delivery service or you join one of our online groups, try out our exclusive anti-inflammatory recipes or attend a cooking class. Maybe you'll request some 1 to 1 personal coaching sessions, whatever it may be Ki's Kitchen will help you relearn how to fuel your body so that it serves your long term joy.

To all my ladies living with fatty liver, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, fatigue or high cholesterol — I see you. ❤️

And when I say - I see you - , I mean I’ve been you.

I’ve left appointments being told to lose weight, exercise more and change the way I eat — and gone home thinking:

Okay…but HOW do I make this work in MY life?

Because behind those blood work numbers is a whole woman.

Work. Children. Aging parents. Menopause. Stress. Sleepless nights. Years of taking care of everybody else.

And now you’ve been handed another list of things to do when you’re already doing SO MUCH.

Sis, I get it.

That’s why I created the - Reclaim Your Table, Feed Your Joy! - event.

Not to throw away the advice you’ve been given — but to help you understand it and make it work with your food, your culture, your family and your real life.

You shouldn’t have to lose your culture to care for your body.

🔥 October 1 | 7–9 PM | Palais Noir, Ajax | $65 — Dinner and swag included.

Bring your questions. Bring your story. Bring a girlfriend.
Come sit at the table with me. ❤️

Ladies, have you ever felt unseen by the medical system?
And by unseen, I mean — have you ever received a diagnosis and felt as though nobody really considered the life you lived before you walked into that office?

Your stress. Your losses. Your sleep. Your work. Your children. Your caregiving. Your hormones. Your movement. Your culture. Your history.

Somehow, the conversation just came back to what you eat.

I remember 25 years ago, trying to have children and being told by a dietitian that I was “too fat,” on my way to diabetes, because I was probably eating too much rice.

She hadn't asked me a single question about my life.
Not how I was sleeping.
Not what stress I was carrying.
Not how I moved.
Not what else I ate.
Nothing.

She looked at my brown skin, looked at my body and blamed the
rice.

I left feeling ashamed and confused — like the foods that connected me to my culture, my traditions and my family were somehow the problem.
That experience stayed with me.

And it's one of the reasons I eventually became an Ayurvedic Therapeutic Culinary Nutritionist.

Because I wanted to understand something the system hadn't helped me understand:
How do I care for my health without losing myself in the process?

I know about food, I've studied it in extreme detail for over a decade. I know how your culturally relevant food can be used as a healing tool when combined in ways that work with your body's natural rhythms. I have lived it and use food as a healing tool to help hundreds of women love the skin their in.

That's why I created Reclaim Your Table, Feed Your Joy!

For two hours, we're putting YOU back into the health conversation.
Your food.
Your culture.
Your traditions.
Your ethnicity and ancestry.

And yes — the valuable medical and nutritional protocols you've been given - because they will work and help you, but they're not the whole solution.

We're going to talk about how to bring those recommendations home and make them work at a table you actually recognize.

We'll also talk about how to walk into your next health appointment feeling more informed and empowered.

When your naturopath said “eat more fibre”… I’ll bet THIS is not what you pictured. 😏

More protein? Great — we’ve got ~30g per meal.
More fibre to support your digestion and blood sugar? Even better — ~18g per meal.

And somehow people still think eating for your health means salads and smoothies - while there's nothing wrong with them, warm food makes a bigger impact on you than you think.

At Ki’s Kitchen, we believe the food that supports your body should also be the food you’re actually excited to eat.

Whole foods. Big flavour. International dishes. And meals skillfully designed to support - stable blood sugar, heart health, digestion and a healthy inflammatory balance.

Your practitioner gave you the guidelines.
We make them taste good. 💜

When your naturopath said “follow a healthy Mediterranean diet”… I’ll bet you weren’t picturing this. 😏

Here’s the thing: Mediterranean-style eating isn’t about forcing yourself to live on Greek salad and olive oil. It’s about the principles — plenty of plants, legumes, fibre, whole foods, nourishing fats, herbs and spices, and meals that support your heart, blood sugar and metabolic health.

And yes… Ki’s Kitchen specializes in exactly that. 💜
Our meals have proven to help people reduce their blood sugar and support healthy blood pressure.

We take those Mediterranean diet principles and apply them to flavour-packed meals inspired by Caribbean, Indian, Asian and comfort-food traditions.

Because eating for your health should still look like food you actually want to eat.

So after decades of taking care of everybody… now we’re blaming the rice and potatoes?

The broken sleep. The stress. The menopause. The caregiving. The work. The responsibilities. The years of putting yourself somewhere near the bottom of the list.

That counts too.

Yet women over 45+ are still so often told: eat a Mediterranean diet, eat more protein, exercise more, lose weight, cut the carbs, watch your sugars.

But did anyone ask about your LIFE?

Your blood sugar has a history. So does your blood pressure, your weight, your energy and your metabolism.

This isn’t about blaming you—or your health practitioner.

It’s about asking whether the standard advice really considers your age, your hormones, your culture, your responsibilities and the life your body has been living.

Your cultural food isn’t the whole problem.
And salad isn’t the whole solution.

We’re starting a different conversation.

Come be seen. Come be heard. Come tell us the whole story.
Come learn how using your culture and heritage can be a huge benefit in navigating the unfamiliar.

My girlfriend went to see her heart specialist the other day and was told to follow the Mediterranean diet.

My girlfriend is from Barbados, not the Mediterranean.

The doctor didn't explain the valuable principles of the diet to her, nor did he explain to her how to apply her culturally relevant food the food she's most familiar with, to the diet, so she wouldn't have to give up everything she loves.

She left the doctor's office feeling overwhelmed, confused and worried.

Luckily she has me to turn to fore guidance.

If you've ever felt like my girlfriend and you want clarity, please SAVE THE DATE - Oct. 1st. At 7pm.
For the Reclaim Your Table, Feed Your Joy event.
I'll show you the way.

More details coming Sept. 2.

You may know me for the food. But my work has always been about so much more than what’s on your plate. 💜

Have you ever left your doctor, naturopath or healthcare practitioner with recommendations and thought, “Okay... but how am I supposed to make all of this work consistently in my actual life?”

That’s where I come in.

🌿 I'll help you translate your care plan into the food you know and love. We’ll adapt familiar and cultural foods using anti-inflammatory ingredients, herbs, spices and cooking techniques—without losing flavour or familiarity, while still adhering to the recommendations you've been given.

☀️ I'll guide you through how to reconnect with your body’s natural rhythms. We’ll work with eating, sleep, movement and rest to support your circadian rhythm, which will help to reduce inflammation, and help you better respond to the signals your body is sending to you.

💜 Make room for YOU—your care, your energy and your joy.
We’ll create space for nourishment of your mind, body and spirit, through joy, that can bring more ease to your nervous system—and build practical sustainable ways of caring for yourself that you can return to when life gets hectic.

And when cooking is the barrier, Ki’s Kitchen can prepare customized meals designed to support your practitioner’s recommendations, too.

Your practitioner creates the care plan. I help with the part that happens when you go home and have to live it, sustainably and consistently.

If you’re wondering how to make your care plan fit your food, your body and your life, let me show you where to begin. 💜
