I am giving serious consideration to leaving Meta platforms like Facebook and Instagram as Meta's values do not match with mine. I have not decided if I truly need a social media space for my work, but I found an alternative for my personal posts. If you'd like to keep up with me and would like to be added to my blog email list, please say so in the comments here or on my next blog which will be posted here this week.

Not everything that hurts you has to become a "lesson."
Not every painful experience needs a silver lining. Not everything that broke you needs to be romanticized as something that "made you stronger."
Sometimes, something simply hurt.
Sometimes it changed you in ways you never asked for.
Sometimes the scars remain, even after you've done everything you could to heal.
And that doesn't mean you failed.
Healing doesn't always mean becoming the person you were before. Sometimes it means learning how to live with the parts of yourself that were wounded, without letting them define your entire story.
You can acknowledge that something fu**ed you up without being ashamed of it. You can admit that you're still affected by it without believing you're permanently ruined.
Maybe some pieces of you will always carry the evidence of what happened.
But broken doesn't mean worthless.
Scarred doesn't mean unlovable.
Changed doesn't mean destroyed.
You can carry what happened to you and still become someone incredibly beautiful.

Rage stands beside grief because the psyche knows something sacred was violated.

The anger says your boundaries mattered, grief says your life mattered, and together they begin restoring the worth that shame taught you to abandon.
