Little minds can carry big worries. 💜

Summer is often seen as a time to relax, but for some children and teens, changes in routines and expectations can bring new challenges.

You might notice:
• Changes in mood or energy
• Increased stress or anxiety
• Struggles with confidence or self-esteem
• Difficulty coping with change or transitions

Even exciting experiences like summer camp, vacations, or time away from school can feel overwhelming and bring unexpected worries.

The summer months can be a great time to build coping skills, strengthen emotional awareness, and give children a safe space to talk about what they’re carrying.

Because sometimes the smallest voices are holding the biggest worries.

As Mental Health Month comes to a close, we wanted to leave you with a simple reminder:

We never truly know what someone may be carrying in their mind or heart… even when it’s someone sitting beside us at the dinner table or sharing the same couch.

At Läka Wellness, we offer counselling services for children, teens, and adults. If you’re looking for support, we’d be honoured to connect with you.

We’re also pleased to offer free counselling sessions with our student intern, Kylie, until December, helping to reduce some of the barriers that can make accessing support difficult.

Newest addition to our kids office… the viral squeezy dumpling 🥟✨

Our child and youth spaces are designed to feel welcoming, safe, and comfortable. We love taking feedback from our younger clients about what’s “in” right now and adding little things that help them feel more connected to the space.

Sometimes comfort starts with the smallest things; a cozy corner, a calming fidget, a silly toy, or something familiar that helps a child feel a little more at ease walking through the door. 🤍
