Apatite is a phosphate mineral group, and many of the apatite stones found in crystal shops are blue or blue green varieties.

Mineralogically, apatite belongs to the hexagonal crystal system. This means its internal pattern connects with six sided order, structure, and upward growth. Apatite crystals often form as hexagonal prisms, which makes the geometry easier to understand visually.

Most Angelite in crystal shops is not found as sharp display crystals. It is usually fine grained or massive, which gives it that smooth, quiet, powder blue appearance.
