This Wild Rose Botanical Serum is crafted from hand-harvested wild rosehips and is a beautiful example of what we love most — simple ingredients, thoughtful craftsmanship, and plants with a story.

Thank you for being here and supporting small Canadian makers. 🌿

Our Bloom & Berry Cream begins with calendula flowers grown right here at Happy Hollows and wild rosehips harvested each year in Nova Scotia.

A rich blend of botanical oils, plant extracts, and nourishing butters. It is a cream that feels both decadent and weightless on the skin and has become one of my absolute favorites.

I use it every day on my face, neck, and arms — anywhere that could use a little extra nourishment and protection from the elements.

Simple ingredients 🌼. Beautiful plants 🌱. Crafted slowly in small batches.

Proudly Canadian 🍁

The motherwort is growing beautifully here at Happy Hollows, in the nooks and crannies around the old stable and shed, but she’s not ready for us just yet. Right now I am letting her do her thing — growing tall, leafing out, building strength before the blooms arrive.

The ideal time to harvest the beautiful motherwort is in early to midsummer, just as the plant is beginning to flower. That first flush of pink blooms is the signal I wait for. We know that the most active ingredients of the plant are at their highest at this time.

Traditionally, motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) has been a deeply feminine herb — used for centuries to ease menstrual cramps, support the nervous system during times of anxiety, and calm the heart. Its botanical name Leonurus cardiaca means “lionhearted,” possibly linked to the plant’s reputation for bringing strength during times of emotional stress. An herb for the heart in every sense.💗💗

The flower spike is gorgeous and bears resemblance to a lion’s tail — and if you’ve ever seen motherwort in full bloom, you will see it. Majestic , spiky and fierce ☺️🍃🍃

New product development in the works with the comfrey that I picked yesterday 🌱

Working on a warming comfrey ointment for sore, overworked muscles, joints, and tendons. Comfrey has been traditionally used in topical care for strains, sprains, and areas that need support. I’ve added a little ginger for warmth and because as you may know i LOVE ginger (so many applications!), and I may finish it with just a touch of menthol for that deep, comforting feel.

What do you think? Menthol or no menthol!? 😀

I made this one for all the summer moments we love — working in the garden, sitting outside in the evening, walking near the woods, or being anywhere mosquitoes seem to find us first.

Our Citronella Bug Repellent Salve with Blue Tansy is made with citronella to help keep mosquitoes and other biting insects away, but I wanted it to feel like skincare too.

It has shea butter, mango butter, and blue tansy, so it leaves your skin feeling soft and nourished — not sticky, harsh, or drying.

A practical little summer salve, made with beautiful ingredients.

Pleased to be partnering with another eco-friendly business, Miel au Carré, at the wonderful Pengrove Market in Hudson, 133 Main Street.

If you’re curious about bees, thinking about starting beekeeping, or already have hives and need guidance, you’ll definitely want to visit Vanessa’s Bee Hub.

Vanessa is there to answer questions, share her knowledge, and help people better understand the important role bees play in our environment. The Bee Hub even has a viewing gallery, where you can watch live hive inspections and learn more about the fascinating world of bees.

These are fresh linden flowers straight from our fields last July — one of my many favourite moments of the growing season. The scent is just incredible. Soft, sweet, a little honey-like, and it’s here for such a brief window before it’s gone. 🍯

I love linden so much that I worked it into my Calendula Cream. The linden aromatic oils bring that same gentle warmth to it — calming, comforting, and exactly what I was going for. If you’re someone who stops and breathes it in every time you walk past a linden tree, this one’s for you. 🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃

Blue tansy is one I love to work with . This is a blend that I am using for my topical bug repellent made with shea and mango butters and of course citronella.

Blue tansy, botanically, is Tanacetum annuum, native to northwestern Morocco. It has been used there traditionally for skin inflammation, respiratory complaints, and allergic reactions.. The oil distills blue because of chamazulene, a compound that forms during the distillation process itself and is responsible for much of its anti-inflammatory action. Yellow flowers, cobalt blue oil - too cool 😎 🩵.
