There are always issues surrounding surgical wait times. But have you ever considered that time as a gift? It's actually time for you to get fitter, more active, better nourished because these factors can reduce risks for complication during or after the operation like infection, excessive bleeding, or slow/incomplete recovery.

Talk to your own family doctor or primary care provider and review some baseline tests (how are your sugars, blood counts etc?), how good is your sleep, could you be more active phyisically, mentally or socially? and start working today on a faster and healthier recovery.

A little info here in recognition of all the things mothers do. Beyond feeding, changing and nurturing, there is monitoring of these little things that might raise suspicions that you might want to get checked out earlier rather than later. Being informed can give you confidence.

Generic terms such as “primary care provider” or “primary care clinician” fail to reflect the depth of medical education, training, scope of practice, and professional identity of physicians who specialize in family medicine.
