Cataracts are the most common age-related vision problem, and they often go unnoticed until your vision has already started to cloud over.

The good news? There's a lot you can do to protect your eyes. Simple habits like wearing UV-protective sunglasses, quitting smoking, eating a diet rich in antioxidants, and booking regular eye exams can all help reduce your risk or slow cataracts down.

Big news to share with our community.

Right at Home Canada has been awarded Three-Year Accreditation from CARF International, the highest level of accreditation CARF awards. As part of the Right at Home Canada network, we are proud of what this represents for the families we support.

In Canada, Home Care accreditation is voluntary. While many agencies choose not to pursue it, accreditation is incredibly important to us. The families who trust Right at Home with the people they love deserve to know that the systems behind their care meet standards recognized around the world.

To the families who trust us every day: thank you. This achievement is for you.

The car keys conversation is one of the hardest a family can have. Starting early makes all the difference.

A few things every Canadian family should know:
→ 82% of Canadians aged 65+ still hold a driver’s licence, and most seniors continue driving safely well into their 80s.
→ In most provinces, physicians are legally required to report patients whose health may affect their driving.
→ Watch for the signs. These can include traffic tickets, slower reaction times, collisions or near misses, avoiding highways, avoiding night driving or bad weather, and increased insurance premiums.
→ Plan B is better than ever. Accessible transit, rideshare, community ride programs, and in-home companion care all help seniors stay mobile and connected.

The keys may change hands. The life behind them doesn’t have to slow down.
