“The colour of the town” is an original play featuring live music and giant puppets, this 45-minute show is fun and free for everyone!

In Taupe Town, the people gather every week to vote on which new colour to paint the town, and every week, they vote for taupe. But what happens when two of the town’s youth learn about other colours? Will anyone vote for change? And what happens when someone stands out from the crowd? May is Vision Health month! Our very own Dr. Tristyn Lautner has been in the Philippines with some of her former University of Waterloo classmates working at rural eye care clinics🤓

Here is what she has to say about this wonderful experience:

“We saw almost 1200 patients over 6 days of clinic. We were in San Juan for 3 days, Bulacan for 2 days, then Manila for 1 day at the “eye train”. The rural outreach clinics were more handheld equipment but in Manila they have converted an old passenger train into an optometry clinic! Each car is a different exam lane with an actual slit lamp and phoropter and one is the dispensary. It’s pretty cool!!

Canadian vision care helps sponsor the trip. SPECS is the name of the organization in the Philippines that they partner with to make the trip happen”.

What a cool experience for Dr. Lautner! We are proud to have her in our FFE family!!!
