Pleasure and happiness are not the same thing.
Most people spend their lives chasing pleasure and wondering why they still feel empty. A good meal. A few drinks. Sleeping in. Another purchase. Avoiding the hard conversation. Staying where it’s comfortable.
Pleasure feels good in the moment. That’s why it’s so seductive.
Real happiness is different.
It’s found in growth, purpose, connection, and living in a way that aligns with your values. It’s built through the things that don’t always feel good right away. Exercise, healthy eating, meaningful relationships, difficult conversations, discipline, service, and showing up when you’d rather not.
The uncomfortable truth is that a meaningful life is often built by doing things that are uncomfortable.
The world will constantly sell you comfort. Comfort isn’t the problem. Living for it is.
Be intentional. Pay attention to the long term consequences of your daily choices.
Pleasure makes life enjoyable.
Purpose makes life meaningful.
