Walk or Wheel with us through the accessible paths throughout Government House gardens during your lunch break on Friday June 5th in celebration of National AccessAbility Week and Employee Wellness Month. 💙

June is Employee Wellness Month, a time to recognize the important role employee well-being plays in the success of any workplace.

This week is also National AccessAbility Week, which shines a spotlight on the importance of accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities.

To us, these two initiatives are deeply connected.

Workplace wellness programs can support physical health, mental health, social connection, and a sense of belonging. But if wellness activities are not accessible and inclusive, many employees may be unintentionally left out of the very opportunities designed to support them.

True workplace wellness means creating opportunities where everyone can participate, contribute, and benefit. Whether that means considering physical accessibility, sensory needs, communication preferences, transportation barriers, or other accommodations, accessibility helps ensure that wellness is something all employees can experience.

In recognition of both Employee Wellness Month and National AccessAbility Week, we invite you to join us for Pathways to Inclusion, a wellness-focused walk through the accessible trails and gardens at Government House. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy nature, connect with others, and learn more about programs and services that support inclusive workplaces and communities.

Light refreshments will be provided.

To RSVP for this walk, please email [email protected].

If you are looking for guidance on increasing accessibility and inclusion within your workplace, we would be happy to help. Reach out to our Autism@Work Employer Engagement Specialist by emailing [email protected] to learn more about creating environments where all employees can thrive.

Shout out to our friends Empower, the Disability Resource Centre for the incredible work that they do to increase AccessAbility throughout our province and for allowing me to use this clip 🤭

While our MentorAbility Newfoundland and Labrador and Avalon Employment Inc. Autism-At-Work programs were being represented at the East Coast Music Association (ECMA) awards and conference, our CEO Sean Wiltshire was in Quebec City with the Governor General of Canada and was invited to speak with the candidates from the Governor General Canadian Leadership Conference / ConfĂŠrence canadienne sur le leadership.

Moments like this are a reminder of how fortunate we are to be guided by leadership that not only champions inclusion and community at home, but also helps shape conversations on leadership, accessibility, and belonging across the country, and the world. Sean’s ability to connect people, challenge perspectives, and advocate for meaningful inclusion continues to open doors and create impact far beyond our province.

We are incredibly proud to see his work and voice recognized on a national stage, while still remaining deeply connected to the communities and people we serve every day.

A quote from Sean: ‘Amazing Leaders doing amazing things!!! It's been 26 years since I did the tour in 2000!’

Scroll through for a few snaps of Sean when he attended the conference as a candidate 26 years ago.

Congrats to all of the recipients of the East Coast Music Association (ECMA) Music and Industry Awards!

It’s been such an incredible opportunity to be here connecting with industry professionals, while providing neuroaffirming spaces, sensory support tools, and guidance around doing things a little bit differently.

A special shout out and congratulations to Lindsay Misiner on winning R&B/Soul Release of the Year! Lindsay made a special shout out to Abe from Shoreside Soaporium who made custom soaps for each musing Newfoundland Lavender for each of the awards recipients

Congrats again to all the winners and thanks for having us along for the show! 💙💙
